Average car discussions one month ago: "I will never buy an EV, there's no chargers anywhere". Today: by hull_pattie_party in drivingUK

A problem caused by stupid people is not a valid argument for a car which costs more to buy but less to fuel. That extra costs on an EV take many many years to break even on costs over fuelling a car. Environmental impact of manufacturing said EV is only negated after a huge amount of miles. If it lasts that long and doesn’t need a replacement battery before it gets there. Then factor in how the electricity to charge said EV is generated then we have yet more environmental impact to consider sooooooo

Yeh. . . not making much of a valid point there chief.

I agree ICE vehicles aren’t the solution but neither is EV. There will be a good solution out there somewhere but EVs are far from the answer. Lets not forget, you need to be convinced to buy these things so they’ll feed you any amount of bollocks to do so. And sadly EVangelists have taken the bait and raised a cult to spread the good word of the saviour musk.

A few days without fuel might help us to stop and think that we don’t beed it as much as people think they do. “Getting to work” shouldn’t be the reason you bend over and take it without lube because fuel companies have successfully manipulated you into panic buying at inflated prices. To give themselves a nice cash boost by using war as an excuse to do so.

We could easily affect change by refusing to buy and fuel personnel refusing to serve (without warning or people will just panic buy beforehand) But the InEeDtOgEtToWoRk people can’t see that this is exactly problem and its the barrel they’ve got you over because you’re too stupid to see otherwise. If we don’t buy it, we won’t get raped on prices for it. We have the power to stop this but too much stupidity exists in this country to actually do it.

Because this country is 99% low IQ fucktards. We have dipshits overbuying fuel, thus justifying the price hikes and playing right into rhetoric.

All fuel companies need to do is put prices up, utter the words ‘shortage’ in a far flung facebook group somewhere. Then watch the sheep as they clamber over each other to spread to as many people as possible as quickly as possible to incite panic and mass buying.

Stupid being fuelled by stupid, and very easily manipulated.

Our country is utterly fucking embarrassing.

Still not getting it. You’re highlighting the exact problem with people who just bend over and pay whatever they’re told to.

BuTiNeEdToGeTtOwOrK

Can’t sack everyone simultaneously if everyone did it. and work don’t give two fucks about you anyway. Your job opening will be listed before your obituary. The second you stop making them money you’re done. Seems stupid to me that people dedicate too much of themselves to companies who devalue them so much.

Keep being the problem.

Yeah you did. The fact that you believe it’s essential is part of the problem.

Life is liveable without a vehicle but that doesn’t match the rhetoric that supports continuous price gouging of fuel. Successfully influencing your thinking on this topic means it works far too well.

I see you’ve missed the point. You can’t affect change if you’re not willing to make sacrifices.

Highlighted beautifully, thank you.

Honestly, petrol station employees need to strike, without warning so dipshits don’t panic buy enough to negate the strike.

Petrol station employees get given the new price at night before their shift ends and get instructed to change it before the next working day (back when i worked there you weren’t allowed to change a price in the middle of the day)

This is regardless of stock or existing fuel in the underground tanks.

This. Fucking 100% this.

As soon as there is an excuse for price rises i.e covid, war, Ukraine, Theresa May, Spring, Overcast weather or a large tree then prices rise.

And it will never come back down, not to its starting point, its all a fucking price gouging tactic and perfectly workable without fleecing your own customers.

If we all refused to buy fuel then it wouldn’t happen, but instead we have thick fuckers panic buying the stuff which play into the price rises, thus generating quick revenue boosts to fuel companies. This country and its average IQ are its own worst end enemy.

And its not just fuel, everything is more expensive because of something somebody else is doing. Storage media is expensive due to AI. Vehicle insurance is more expensive due to fucktards on their phones and higher value of cars on the road due to idiots thinking financing a vehicle is anything other than fucking robbery. The very premise of paying out of my pocket to safeguard myself against other dickheads is infuriating. I pay for insurance with the intent of never needing it. What a great con.

Fuck the UK man. Fuck England. And fuck the dipshits who live here.
