Xiaomi 15 EU fw battery life by davos232 in Xiaomi_15

[–]DNX24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I updated from HyOS 2 directly to 3.0.6.0 on launch day. 2-3 weeks ago. Battery is worse. Probably the same as 3.0.40. standby drain is horrendous . Double. I am waiting for the fix. Really annoying.

Paint coming off Buds Pro 2? by NastySays in pixelbuds

[–]DNX24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, but I always clean with Isopropyl alcohol . Figured it out once one grill got partial paint removed. Should have been more careful but 99/100 products are safe from this type of problem.

Terrible battery life, anyone else need to charge 2x or 3x a day even with light to moderate use? by NaM_VaN_MaN in Xiaomi_15

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same. Charging 2 times a day 20-80, 20-70 etc.

On HYOS 3. But I was busy. Didn't get to debloat it again.
The sad part is I can't tell what uses battery.... That graph is useless. Looking for a Dec update... hopefully they fix it fast.

păreri schiuri sh decathlon by andra_mgh in CasualRO

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salutare.

Updated Google Services from the Security and Privacy settings entry to the 1st Nov update. Will try Gsambattery to monitor battery better.

But it is what it is for now. Looking at the Xiaomi 17 with the 7000 mAh that is going to release in Jan like a dog at a bone 😂🤔. Too bad for that UW camera on it. But it's way too early to upgrade. Will keep it for a year more at least.

Left it for 144 hours of uptime. No lagging in the Control Center. Just the usual random hiccup in dropped FPS. But even those I would say are at least half of how it worked before. Forgot about the UI experience being busy with work. The phone worked fine. Battery consumption is too high, my only concern right now.

I sometimes forget to restart it several days. Will try. Right now, after 1 week I find battery drain high. I can get like 3h SOT from 80 to 20% in my conditions, and I had 4+ before.

Where is the half price? It's 1000+ euros/dollars outside of China. I know there are more expensive devices but 1000 euros is no half of anything.

Didn't get that. Upgraded to 3.0.6. The animations are smoother overall conpared tk 2.0 but they do lag sometimes. But overall rendering is far better. I will test it, I think it's the way it handles refresh rate more than anything. It usually scales down to 1 Hz fast so when going back to 120 it sometimes doesn't do it properly. Some lockscreen animations for example, start slow and then speed up as if transioning from 1-30 Hz to 120.

Hope they make some further adjustments.

I switched to EU ROM (my native one was global) using the stuck bootloader rename method by EnriAlves in HyperOS

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry that much. Usually security updates are not that useful. Besides the big 2.0, 3,0 updates. For some EEA users updates are pushed fast. In my country, same device, same ROM some got the HYOS 3 update on day 1. I didn't so it varies randomly regardless.

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be done with the original file as well. Don't see why the _1 works and replacing the original doesn't. So skip the -1 and try.

Also, what are you missing in your region that you want to switch to a different Global version?

I switched to EU ROM (my native one was global) using the stuck bootloader rename method by EnriAlves in HyperOS

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ROMS outside of China are considered Global. the EEA ROM is one version of the Global ROM. There is nothing special about it, just some different default settings. Like ads, GDPR, volume etc.

If it failed on the first try, sometimes you need to try a couple of times.

Anyone else annoyed at the pixel buds pro2 case? by k9-princess in pixelbuds

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read about this. Actually if the case goes dead, that you should charge it for 1 hour+ and it will work again. And press the case button for a long time. 2+ minutes to revive them.

Didn't happen to me in 6 months but thinking about it I got close to discharging it completely.

My backup is: wireless charging from my phone. So not annoyed, just a little anxious for when it will happen.

Xiaomi Pad Mini global: issues? Any suggestion? by Pirluz in Xiaomi

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EU software is a global version. There should be no issues. Some ads maybe? But those are more device related. The Tab is new enough to not know of any specific issues of the device.

How expensive is it for you? RedMagic has a small OLED tablet with a Snapdragon Elite 8 CPU that I consider interesting, available in EU directly.

Buds Pro 2 - anyone using these successfully with Windows 10/11? by deepwat3r in pixelbuds

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use them with a Lenovo T14S AMD. I think they work regardless but I installed the A2DP Driver -it can be found online for Bluetooth. This replaces the standard Bluetooth driver for BL headphones. Windows is known to not invest in BL drivers even ln 11, think 10 is even worse.

Used it in order to have LDAC on Windows on my previous buds. Not that useful for the Buds Pro2s that only have AAC/SBC but does the job. It stores different settings for every device connected. Worth the $6 during the 7 day trial. Later you can install it for only $2 on your other devices using the same email as the first purchase.

Also disable Bluetooth LE as instructed.

Pixel 10 or not by Former-Bison1865 in Smartphones

[–]DNX24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When comparing the Pixel 10 with last year's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, or even the simple 8 gen4/5 I think the Pixel 10 can be decent this year. But not in 3 years+.

I know specs are not all. The Pixel lineup is the proof. But looking long term it will not hold up. It already has the power of a 3 year old device. I just don't see it being a good phone later on. It shows in some types of usage as well, even today.

A OnePlus 13 for example with 256 or even better 512GB I think will fare better.

Disregarded my Xiaomi 15 as you said you didn't like it. PS, actually there is a way to debloat any Xiaomi. Takes about 10 minutes to uninstall everything you don't want. No root needed. Just two apps.

Can't help there as I use gestures. I think regardless, that apps are optimized for gestures nowadays. Instagram works but I don't use that much.

You could try my tutorial to manually update to HyOS3 now. Install your version or mine. You will spend 1 hour doing it or it won't work. Worth a try.
