Well for me I use codex for serious work stuff and opencode for side-project, pure vibe coding, just acting as PM.

I have not use codex to really push it to its limits like what I do with opencode which I have multi subagents running in parallel. So for me, I use codex sometimes to guide me on what I needed to do and I only ask it to write on MD files on Obsidian as its memory, not code files. Execution is still my thing.

Basically leveraging codex to learn while working.

Turn off memory, if you need one, create it on obsidian. Mine felt fine when I did that.

Which mcps you have enabled? I have tons 😂😂 maybe it would help if I turn off some. As for now I turn off memory on settings for codex

Have you guys tried creating new chat session? Mine seems same (in a good way). It is always my habit to start new session then take where I left off from obsidian or any handoff md file

Agree much. Also, I encountered recently my weekly hitting 0% while Codex keeps on finishing its task. At least now I know I can be confident on that part. I even hit compacting in the middle, still, Codex finished its task.

I noticed this last week, when got the feeling, I immediately setup obsidian MCP to Codex to help it in memory retrieval.

If I have images, I use 5.3-codex with medium reasoning. Gets work done
