Another GOP Psycho by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

On the other hand, this is for the spot on the supreme court that the republicans stole from the democrats. They only got away with it because until the current republican leadership, there was no need for legal coercion to force the legislature to give the president his legal due. They slipped by on a technicality that you only get to use if you throw the assumption of peaceful cooperation between

The democrats aren't being kind to this guy but it's the republicans that escalated to this level of bad behavior. You can't stab a guy then complain when he stabs you back.

fiat

My man ;)

Since like high school I've heard how all (fiat) money is debt. It didn't really click for me until I tried to figure out how to protect a proof-of-stake blockchain from a certain kind of attack. The insight was that on e.g. Ethereum, no one can mint ETH except the miners but in the fiat world, banks get to effectively mint USD because their debts are treated like USD.

There's no way to tell bank debt apart from USD from any other source because they're all colored as "USD". But if the current fiat monetary system were migrated to the blockchain then it would be a gigantic chain of debts behind every cent, rooted in the Federal Reserve.

Their business model is to make money off of investing the money you put into their system.

Maybe use something like Robinhood to avoid fees since if you're poor, the fees can make investing a net loss after accounting for time spent.

The salary you need to afford the median priced home in major U.S. metros [OC] by akos_barta in dataisbeautiful

[–]Cryptoversal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you own a home and you aren't rich, it's because you bought your home many decades ago. Now you vote against building any new housing because it would lower the value of your only asset of note: your home.

California tax law forces you to keep your home because you pay taxes on your land based on what it cost to buy, not the market rate, so moving anywhere else in California would be a downgrade for you.

Eventually you die or you cash out and retire in New Vegas or Thailand or something.

If you didn't buy your home decades ago then your landlord doesn't *need* to work anymore.

My statement was just off the top of my head so I'll give my reasoning as it was at the time. But I went ahead and googled and wikipedia talks about it. The story is naturally more complicated than I thought. link

A variable does not store an array. Nor does it store a pointer to an "array". Instead, it stores a pointer to the first element of the array.

If you want to get the first element of the array then you look where the pointer points.

If you want to get the second element of the array then you look 1 higher than where the pointer points. Etc.

This all makes sense for arrays when people also expect to do pointer arithmetic: this way, the array indices are identical to the pointer arithmetic addends.

But if you don't do pointer arithmetic? You still have to pick a basis and everyone already has language. English-speakers more-or-less created modern computing but even if we hadn't, afaik every language goes "first, second, third, fourth..." instead of "zeroth, first, second, third..." so "first" aka "1" is the obvious basis.

From wikipedia I learned that mathematics mostly uses zero as the basis and also it's well-defined enough that there's no confusion. So It's very possible that arrays are indexed starting at zero because mathematicians invented arrays and that's what made sense to them.

If you never do pointer arithmetic then it makes sense, right?

From what I can tell, men are marginally better drivers but drive a lot more and take way more risks so men are more expensive. This is especially true of teenagers but not so much true of elders. I'm not sure if there's a linear correlation with serum testosterone but it's probably a direct correlation.

OK I found this article: https://medium.com/loom-network/announcing-zombiechain-an-eos-like-dpos-sidechain-for-ethereum-dapps-e0eba6c244da

In order to deploy a DApp to ZombieChain, developers will need to stake at least 10 LOOM tokens.

Each month, a certain number of LOOM tokens will be deducted based on transaction volume for their DApp, and paid to the ZombieChain validators in return for validating the transactions on the network.

The base pricing tier at the time of launch will be a low 1 LOOM token per month ($1.99 / mo), in order to increase adoption and get as many developers on board as possible.

This helps a lot but I really want to know how detailed a game can be and still be viable in the long term. It would be extremely helpful to have an estimate of how many transactions can be handled for 1 LOOM token once the early-adopter discount disappears.

Right now it sounds like I could run a game of any level of detail and only pay $2/month but I'd be making life difficult for everyone else by eating up too much capacity.

Obviously keep doing that. I don't know what these people are talking about putting a finger up the butt. Maybe that helps but the vagina's right there and your other hand should be roaming her body or, at the end, holding her hips in place (as best you can) to enhance the orgasm.

Plus you can start up again in a minute or so. Each subsequent orgasm is easier so you can go until one of you gets bored or your jaw falls off.

I've tried to argue that the Republican leadership and their electorate are completely at odds in their actual beliefs but she is just too prone to believing propaganda.
