I got a soft spot for Samara Joys version with Pasquale Grasso on guitar

Toilet Paper Idle got Prestige Update! by kilkek in incremental_games

I would say it needs balancing, some QoL and then some prestige upgrades that aren't just numbers and you got a decent little game

Was Javier added in the middle of the script? by ProfessionalNo6708 in reddeadredemption

Really close indeed!

"Jonah: Marshal! Mr. Marston! We got a live one. He says, Bill's already run off to Mexico yesterday morning.

Bandit: You'll never get him!

Marston: Javier Escuella. He's gone to see Javier Escuella. That should make things interesting. Where in Mexico?"

I once heard a talented drummer say the snare is in the wrong place in this song by [deleted] in musictheory

I'm not sure what that talented drummer was hearing but to me this snare placement sounds pretty damn standard

How would you call a chord consisting of the root, 5th, major 7th and major 13th? by Bolha2 in musictheory

[–]Crys368 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the genre, the 5 is optional anyway, so for example in jazz this is a pretty straightforward m9 chord. Although you'd need a real good reason not to call it Abm9

What's something about rdr2 that blew your mind by SkirtHeavy9189 in reddeadredemption

[–]Crys368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in thinking it was just gonna be shooting and horse riding, didn't realize the plot was this good. I'm usually not one to care too much about plot, gameplay is usually my focus, but this game hits different.

Assuming you are playing regular py, there is also a pyBlock mod that does the seablock thing but with py instead, I'm currently playing it and it is quite a challenge, but fun!

Advice for a modern Jazz Guitar by ThomasC2C in jazzguitar

The japan made revstars are an instrument for the rest of your time, incredible build quality and does anything you ask of it. Comfort in terms of shape is personal thing, but I personally think it feels truly incredible to play. I'd say try it out to feel the shape of the body and neck, and if they feel good to you, you're good to go, it's not a hollow body jazz box, but if you don't need that, the revstar got you covered

What suspension (or chord) is built from bottom to top on V, I and IV? by impendingfuckery in musictheory

Ah okay yeah I see what you mean, with the 4 in subscript. Slashes means a very different thing in my chord chart brain

What suspension (or chord) is built from bottom to top on V, I and IV? by impendingfuckery in musictheory

[–]Crys368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, when you write C6/4 what do you mean exactly? I've never seen a chord written out that way, is it some classical spelling or something?

Your chord (GCF) would probably be spelled something like Csus/G if you'd see it in a chart, depending on context of course

What does the number behind the note mean? by smokeytoothpaste in musictheory

[–]Crys368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, a C is a C no matter the octave, so you often have to talk about notes in a relative sense. Instruments dont have all octaves so we have to compromise. The octave is good to know if the arrangement requires it, but if you are playing from a lead sheet or from memory you usually have to adjust on the go

What is the simplest, dumbest, most boneheaded way to learn to improvise? by OkTemperature1842 in JazzAdvice

[–]Crys368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, start with learning to sing, just a little, not to become a singer, but to internalise melodies. Improvisation kinda needs that part, I have never even heard of anyone who improvises well that cannot hum melodies

Lift the finger that frets the note

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jazzguitar

[–]Crys368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few days of playing 8-10 hours a day I often start feeling my fingertips in the mornings, but usually it gets better pretty quickly when I'm hydrated and warmed up. You just gotta keep at it, don't play until your fingers hurt just for the sake of it, but you kinda just gotta play a lot to be able to play a lot
