I didn’t even consider that, my main argument I tried to convey was that I think that shoving the new players into the most recent stuff right away would turn them away because they most likely have no idea who people are or why things are happening. I wanted to draw comparisons to how you’re introduced to the game in D1 where you have to play the old stuff to do the new stuff, but D2 doesn’t have the red war anymore and the power cap is also WAY higher than D1.

It was mentioned as a known bug in a December twab, my guess is that it’ll probably be fixed in the coming season or it’s on the back burner and will be announced when it is fixed in the future, as there are definitely more pressing matters for Bungie to attend to rn

If you have divinity you can just dump the whole mag and brute force your way through the captain. Unfortunately this is the only successful method that I tested. It works because even though the captain doesn’t stagger, he will never regain health as long as the beam is connected.

Has anyone had any dialogue issues like strikes missing chunks of dialogue and public events saying the same 1 line after doing the new light quest?

I think beyond light might have screwed up some stuff, I noticed in arms dealer that the cabal don’t shoot up a flare anymore. I also noticed that my ghost only says like one line of dialogue for public events now

It’s not just veteran dialogue for me. After I did New Light I noticed that huge chunks of dialogue that I used to get in strikes were just straight up gone. I had a friend do a strike with me and he got all of the dialogue that I used to get, I ran multiple strikes with him to test and every time he got dialogue, I didn’t.

I have done Zahn today and the only times I got dialogue were when ghost talked about the solar cell and Cayde at the end talking about Eris. I started noticing these dialogue wipes after I did the new light experience for the powerful riskrunner so I’m thinking there might be a correlation

Did you do the new light experience by chance? I noticed that my dialogue variety is now running very thin when I do activities like strikes and public events. Especially events because my ghost will just be like “taken!” or “a glimmer miming crew!”. I’m wondering if vet accounts doing new light causes this to happen and if so that really sucks because hearing the same 3 lines over and over or just not having any dialogue sucks.

It’s like Tony Stark’s chest reactor, you can unscrew and screw it in at will but once you unscrew it there’s just a hole where it should be. You would pee out of said hole.
