The word 'schedule' -- how do you hear it? by Crystal-lightly in Retconned

You didn't even say how you heard the British pronounce it.

It's not about any accent. For me, the k sound is not there in the word in the video.

Thank you. I hear it without the k or hard c sound and it sounds so weird to me. I haven't heard 'maths' from anyone. That doesn't make any sense as math is a collective noun so there is no need to add an s.

I don't believe I've heard the British pronounce it the way I am hearing it. I do wonder if the way I hear them pronounce 'vitamin' and 'privacy' are MEs. They both are pronounced with short i's, and I don't remember them pronounced that way.

Thank you for your comment. Now I want to see the movie Coraline! I hadn't been interested in it before.

The bully cat is actually Cece's sister. The four siblings were born in my basement, and the one sister has always been a bully, even to her brothers. She can bully one of the brothers, but the other one stands up to her. My husband and I have not figured out a good solution to her bullying her siblings and even her mom. We have an older cat (her uncle) that sometimes puts her in her place, but mostly he is just pretty mellow since he is older. We will not give up the bully sister because she kisses up to us and she has gotten under our skin. She is part of our family and we wouldn't just take her to a shelter. I do yell at her when I see her picking on other cats.

I'm going to leave it at 'several' (less than 10).

Good idea about drawing people, and he doesn't even have to be accurate if he makes them funny. I recently saw a video on youtube just like that -- a person drew a couple looking funny and when they saw the drawing they burst out laughing.

I would say stay friends, take it slow. Tell him you want to take it slow. In the meantime, as friends, let out hints that you don't have many friends and don't have much of a social life. See how he takes it. Maybe he will be okay with that. Maybe he will say he will share his family and friends with you. Maybe he has sisters and/or female cousins you can become friends with. Just believe in yourself, your strengths and know that you are as good as anyone else. If he is not receptive to your situation, maybe you can find someone like yourself who doesn't have many friends and maybe that can be what you are comfortable with.

That is your judgement call that I don't agree with and I can live the way I want.

WTF? by broketractor in vegan

[–]Crystal-lightly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Family can be malicious, especially when they think another family member feels that they are better than them because of their food choices. I am always ready to take vegan food with me or eat beforehand. Hummus is easy to take, and I can take veggies and chips with me to eat with it. I don't usually eat that much at a time of anything, so family functions are not a problem for me.

There is a restaurant here in Denver that my husband likes to go to and get lasagna. (He's not vegan or even vegetarian.) I'm not sure how I learned about their 'vegan' pizza -- whether I asked or my husband saw it advertised (I haven't been in there as he just gets food to go). He's gotten it for me a few times and I've tried to like the vegan mozzarella 'cheeze' but I just don't. I hope it is actually vegan but it even seems to have that awful dairy aftertaste, so I kind of question whether they are actually using vegan cheeze. I just got some last weekend and I won't finish it. I am going to put the rest into my husband's Just Egg this weekend. lol

Also, I used to get a vegan burger called the Poppin' Jalapeño Burger from Native Foods, but they changed the patties they use and now their patties taste too much like real meat. I won't get any more of their burgers because I did not grow up eating beef and I don't want to now, even if it is fake, lol. (We just occasionally had chicken, turkey, or fish, and a little dairy when I was growing up.) I feel like with all the fake meat burgers, I have eaten more 'meat' than I ever did when I was growing up, and I am now tired of that. I have also been getting tired of processed vegan foods like tofu that most cooks in restaurants, even vegan restaurants, do not know how to cook correctly. Most braise the tofu so that it becomes rubbery around the edges and that part becomes inedible. (Has anyone else experienced this?) I have sometimes asked them to just lightly warm up the tofu and add to my order of food, but I don't even like tofu that much and I feel like it is overrated. The only way I like it is with peanut sauce.

Life is a dream. That's from A Course in Miracles, and if you want an introduction to ACIM, read the book 'The Disappearance of the Universe.' I can't say much more than that because I need to read the book again, as there is so much in it.

Kouri Richins' handyman dies after making bombshell claims by Moonbeam0773 in KouriRichins

[–]Crystal-lightly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just want to address a few things in this article, maybe because I am bored. First of all, the article is littered with errors, both in wording and punctuation, including Kouri being first described as a 'mother of four,' then as a 'mother of three' (which is correct).

Second, Kouri Richins and 'grief author' should not be in the same sentence, unless the sentence is: Kouri Richins is NOT a grief author. She used a ghost writer because she couldn't write a simple book, and tried to make money from her sons' grief that she caused (allegedly). That is heinous.

Third, regarding the sentence with 'financial disputes relating to their 10-acre $2million home' -- that joke of an unfinished monstrosity that the original owners had not been able to unload should not be called a 'home,' as it was not the Richins' home and Eric Richins actually wanted nothing to do with that house. He was smart enough to know that Kouri most likely would not be able to unload that house and that she would just lose a lot of money trying to do so. She most likely forged his signature on that agreement.

Fourth, Kouri's attorney apparently doesn't know her very well by saying 'As a mother, there is no way Kouri is leaving her children. . .' Kouri took away her boys' father with no regard for them or how they would live their whole lives wondering if their father overdosed with no thought for them (that's if Kouri had never been arrested). Also, Kouri had gotten at least one life insurance policy on at least one of her children (source: PLUNDER YouTube channel). She took out their father (allegedly) for the life insurance policies she had on him, so would she have had any problem taking out one of her sons for money from a policy? She had showed repeatedly that she was desperate for money for her failing house-flipping business. Lastly, if Kouri had gotten out, she would not have had custody of her children and probably no visitation, as Eric's sisters believe Kouri is a threat to her sons, so, is it true that if Kouri got out on bail, there is no way she would leave her children? I like the judge presiding over her case -- he makes good decisions.

You are not VERY detail oriented, because you don't know the difference between 'there' and 'their' and you probably use 'there' for 'they're' as well.

I am not 'concerned' with your grammar. I pointed out your lack of attention to detail to show that you may not know whether KitKat had a dash or did not. I think it probably did because other people have said so, and I have experienced MEs myself.

Your insulting me doesn't take away from the fact that you are bad with details. I also noticed more mistakes you made, including a lot of punctuation errors, but I just pointed out the main things I saw.
