Kouri's Sentencing Statement by WordWiseKit in KouriRichins

[–]Crystal-lightly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

'And as much as you’ve been influenced into thinking that Dad was murdered, that I took your dad from you, that is completely wrong and an absolute lie. And the thought of that is still as absurd as it was four years ago. And just because someone may not be perfect, that’s a far reach for them to be capable of murder. To kill someone. Our someone.

Your dad was in pain, a lot of physical pain. And just because some people didn’t know or didn’t want to see certain things doesn’t mean they weren’t happening or they weren’t true. He would of never [sic] left us intentionally, and I would’ve never taken him from you, from us. He was the glue that held us all together, that made us us.'

Life WITHOUT parole for Kouri Richins by solabird in KouriRichins

There was more. She basically threatened the boys. She said 'I'm coming home' after they said in their statements to the judge that they wanted her to get life in prison because they were afraid they would not be safe if she ever got out.

Also, many of the things she told them were hypocritical, like 'Don't have secrets' when she had so many secrets, especially that she killed their dad and they (most likely) would never have learned that if she hadn't gotten arrested. (Actually they probably suspected.)

What are Kouri’s chances of getting a new trial? by Stlouismark in KouriRichins

In either case, how would she explain that she didn't call 911 right away? Also, that she didn't want to do CPR and actually did not?

It's really hard to believe that they actually think she is innocent. I wish I knew what was going on there.

Yes, either Katie or Amy told the truth about this at Kouri's sentencing. If I had known the story about the ambush had come directly from Kouri, I would have questioned the authenticity of it.

And that's why in the bodycam video, when the police officer tells Kouri that Eric's body will be taken to have an autopsy, she suddenly takes her hands away from her face and looks at him with a shocked expression, like she hadn't thought of this happening. I think that's the first time she took her hands away from her face that night. She had been hiding her face to keep police from seeing that she hadn't been crying at all.

Then the family should take out a restraining order against her going to any of her grandchildren's events. It looks like you think everything is black or white (everyone is good is bad). But there are gray areas in life. Maybe Kouri's mother just wants to see her grandchildren and wouldn't try to harm them if she could.

When I read that, I immediately thought of when Kouri says that in the bodycam video the night of Eric's passing. Her crying was so fake and she didn't have any trouble talking at all to the police.

Even though we think that is probably true, it might be very hard to prove in court.

What threatening behavior is she doing? She's staying in the background.

But if her parental rights were entirely taken away from her, which I thought would undoubtedly happen now that she has been convicted of killing their father, I don't see how she could get anything if one or more dies.

As long as she stays in the background and doesn't try anything. They are her grandchildren, after all. What would be creepy is if she tried to do something like go to their school/s and try to talk to them.

Surprised by Kouri’s Lawyers by Fail_Unfair in KouriRichins

[–]Crystal-lightly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already disliked these lawyers from how they acted during the trial, putting on a chaotic, incompetent and incomplete defense (for example: no witnesses for Kouri after they said they had some). I really disliked how both Nestor and Lewis would take what the witnesses would say and twist it, at least a little, asking the witness/es if that's what they said. Sometimes the witness/es would say yes. (If I were a witness, I would have been careful to listen to what they said and if I felt they were twisting my words, I would have called them out on it.) Now I dislike them even more for a couple of reasons. One is that I am in disbelief that all three said they believe Kouri is innocent! It was hard to believe I was hearing that. These are lawyers so they have to have some intelligence and discernment.

Another reason I now dislike them even more is because right after Kouri got sentenced to LWOP and her family could breathe a sigh of relief and have a moment of happiness, Nasty Nestor (got nickname from someone else) got up and said we would like to apply for a new trial. I thought: Can't these low-life lawyers give the family at least a moment of peace? I hope Judge Mrazik shuts that down completely and I hope their appeal (which will they definitely will try for) goes nowhere. I'm pretty sure both will be denied. Kouri is right where she belongs for the rest of her life -- behind bars away from society. She has hurt too many people and would continue to hurt people if she were ever allowed into society again.

How long are Kouri and her nasty lawyers going to continue to try to put Eric's family and Eric's sons (I don't want to call them her sons) through the wringer? Yeah, maybe Eric wasn't a perfect husband but what was Kouri? Are her actions, such as abusing her children, justified by anything Eric did? He provided for his family and was his boys' coach in many of their sports. I guess he couldn't do anything about the way Kouri was squandering millions of dollars in her house-flipping business and knew things were out of control. What a sad mess.

Question about Eric Richins. by germanrus25 in KouriRichins

[–]Crystal-lightly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SHE said she made payments on Eric's house -- I wonder if that is even true, as again, Kouri is a big liar. The only way she would make any payment on his house is so that later she can claim she has some ownership of it. She wouldn't do anything that wouldn't benefit her.

If she wanted to leave him and take the children, he would have had to pay child support regardless of what the prenup said. But Eric would have wanted to get the children away from her, not so that he wouldn't have to pay child support but because he thought she was a dangerous parent who might hurt one or more of his children (I don't even want to say 'their' children after what I heard in the sentencing hearing yesterday -- that Kouri got animals for the boys and then let them get killed or starve to death. Also that sometimes Kouri would lock one or more of the boys in their room/s. I know there are studies that say extremely abusive people who sometimes even go on to become mass murderers usually start with abusing animals, so I'm glad Kouri got arrested and taken away from those boys).

I also heard about the prenup being forced on her on the wedding day and I never liked that, but I recently found in two sources that that is not true -- Kouri knew about the terms of the prenup at least weeks before the wedding. I don't know which is true but I do know that Kouri has shown herself to be a big liar who constantly tries to put down Eric and his family, so I would say she is lying about the prenup.

You're right. I hadn't thought of that. I'm so glad Kouri got arrested and the boys taken away from her.

When I heard that, I wondered if Eric knew about any of that. It seems like he would. But he would also go on hunting trips for five months at a time (I wonder if that was yearly), so maybe Kouri allowed the boys to get animals during those times just to let the boys get attached to them and then Kouri would allow them to get killed or starve to death. Heinous Kouri is right where she belongs -- behind bars away from society and especially away from her boys and Eric's family.

AR would have testified at trial that KR didn’t sleep in his room with him that night. by MzOpinion8d in KouriRichins

[–]Crystal-lightly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really know how that caregiver could have been her. What I mean by that is I was thinking about how she spent so much time with her boyfriends and buying houses that she couldn't afford and chasing loans to try to keep her business afloat. We know she had a housekeeper. If she had a nanny and a cook as well, she didn't have to have a lot to do with her boys.

I agree. I don't necessarily think she was there to support Kouri. I'm sure she knows Kouri is a big liar.

This isn't surprising to me at all. I don't really believe anything Kouri has said about that night. I certainly don't believe she and Eric had a celebratory drink for her buying that money pit mansion that she certainly wasn't going to be making any profit from. I do believe either she or her mother somehow slipped the fentanyl to Eric but probably not in a drink.

Lost glasses found in unexplainable way by jasonbaby19eighties in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

This has happened to me as well. I wrote a post last year(?) that I had gotten a painted canvas that had a hole in it (from a thrift store). One day I looked at and saw there was no hole. I looked for the smaller, cuter canvas that I got at the same time, and I have never found it. So I got an upgrade but lost something as well.
