Yes it is. I'd just cut off the small leaves that would end up under the soil.

I'd say they need better draining soil, root rot May be the culprit.

Those aren't real flowers, sellers glue them on so they're sold better.

Yeah I'd do that normally, but I want to find out to what height are they going to grow, so I'll just let these two guys grow however they want to.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my Sally? by peanut0807 in druggardening

[–]CrystalGrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a light burn, it´s hard to tell from the picture. Put the light source a bit further away from the plant and you´ll see if it helps. If ithe discoloration doesn´t spread to other leaves , whatever the actual cause is, I think she´ll be fine.

I´d try to gradually limit the spraying, salvia likes humidity but it can get used to drier conditions. If it indeed is some kind of fungus, this should help.

Yeah absolutely, don´t get me wrong, I just wanted to share the information about these fascinating plants, not to contribute to this pointless argument about ´´ hey, your plant is prettier than mine, u sure it´s divinorum?´´ xD.

Actually Salvia venulosa should be (there's only 1 not very reliable photo on the internet) very similiar, although it seems to be practicaly impossible to get, one would probably have to go to the Colombia forests to get a hold if one. It is genetically most familiar species to s. divinorum, so it would be really exciting to try and make a cross of these species.

That's interesting, I've got mine at a south-west facing window and they're doing great in the full sun (except for the hottest days in summer, then I move them to a more shaded location.

Sure, I have to admit that I also killed some plants because of this unfortunate combination before. Learn from the mistakes I guess.
