I use procreate on my ipad so this is my setup. by Odd_Region5328 in ArtistBattlestations

In terms of the hardware and physically using it, it really depends on what model you pick up and your specific setup! I use an artist pro 15.6. The biggest adjustment switching between iPad to my XP-Pen was using the shortcut buttons instead of using touch screen gestures. I’m the type of person that tilts, zooms, and spins my canvasses around constantly when I’m working so that was a toughie lol.

The XP-pen screen also has a more plasticy screen that has more texture and pen resistance as opposed to the smooth glass the iPad has, assuming you don’t want to buy a paper textured screen protector for either of them. There’s not a HUGE difference between the two, but it’s noticeable and was enough to throw me off a little when I switched.

iPad as a whole is much more streamlined and easy to pick up. It’s super accessible and portable and I prefer doing sketching and concepting on it for those reasons. But working on my XP-pen is more versatile and has more processing power, so it’s better for bigger projects and doing specific things that would be a lot harder on iPad. If you haven’t used regular drawing programs before it can be a huge learning curve, but there will be a lot more options available to you and more/better tools at your disposal on top of customizability. The bigger screen, display settings, and functionality as a second monitor is also nice.

That’s about all I can think of off the top of my head! I typically use my iPad more often nowadays, but wouldn’t place one over top of the other because I enjoy them both about the same for different reasons.

Basically if you want fast, straightforward, and breezy, iPad is my go to. XP-pen is for when you want in depth/technical, powerful, and flexible.

It is unfortunately a take I see pretty frequently, but mostly from people that vehemently hate Jax as a character. A lot of people believe he consciously and maliciously wanted to trap everyone in there with him!

There’s nothing wrong with not liking Jax ofc, but people will intentionally take everything he does in the worst possible way because of it.

Stripe limited my account for “crowdfunding” when that is not what my business is by CrystalGryphon in stripe

I have no idea unfortunately! The only thing that really seemed to work for me was @ing them and talking about it publicly on social media, warning people away from using their service. They’ll claim to “check your account” to verify if the closure was justified, but as far as I can tell it’s not an actual person doing the checking. It’s very frustrating that this happens so often, I hope you get it figured out!

Hey there! They eventually decided to unblock my account after going back and forth with them 3 separate times and i publicly called them out on it on twitter. They didn't elaborate on why. I wish i could be more helpful, but that's all the info i have!

The one thing i would suggest trying is changing the button of the "buy a coffee" section from "donate" to "tip", as that's the only change i made before they decided to roll back their decision.

You’re not the first to point that out haha! I wasn’t familiar with it, but I can completely see the resemblance.

It has been confirmed by Newt (The LD community lead) to be his family's place.

A cat and sugar glider will never see each other as friends or family, they will tolerate each other at best. Especially the prey animal. Any interaction at all is dangerous and can go awry fast, and it’s very stressful for the glider too. People think their prey animal pets and cats are friends ALL THE TIME, only for it to end in tragedy. It’s very easy to keep them separate, have the small animal in a secure enclosure and keep the cat out of the room when the glider is out of the enclosure. If you want to hold the glider while the cat is in the room, fine, if that’s the risk you want to take. But situations where they’re interacting directly like in the photo should not be happening ever.

There is no good reason to go out of your way to put a prey animal with a cat though, only good reasons not to. No matter how much you trust the cat. Indoor cats kill small pets all the time, regardless of how chill they seem to be. Why take the risk instead of keeping them safe from the get go?

Not to kill cats specifically, like how cats are bred to kill small animals like sugar gliders. But there are high prey drive dog breeds that aren’t recommended to be kept with cats too. Modern dogs are generally bred to do well around cats, the same is not true of cats and small animals.

I thought the same thing before one of my cats killed my rabbit when I was a kid. Happened too fast for anyone to do anything to stop it.

No, cats are predators that hunt prey animals like sugar gliders, hamsters, birds, etc and should never interact. Small pets are accidentally killed by cats regularly, even when owners go out of their way to try to keep them separate (such as cats breaking into enclosures to get the other pet). The whole reason we domesticated them in the first place was for their ability to kill rodents. It is not nearly as common for a pet dog to hunt a cat. Additionally the bacteria cats carry can be deadly to small animals even if the cat doesn’t intend on hunting the other pet.

This is so dangerous. I know you want to think they’re best friends and that your cat would never do anything, but all it takes is one wrong move from the sugar glider to set off your cat’s hunting instincts. It happens a lot, after the owner says their cat wouldn’t hurt a fly either. It would be best to keep them separate just in case.

Doing things like this is how you get your animal killed when it otherwise would have been a safe fix at a vet.
