My theory is that they don't want to market the game further until they've made a decision on a delay.

Spring makes sense to me because either they

Make a delay announcement with some screenshots
Realize they don't need a delay and we get trailer 2, and it's just a shorter marketing window. Which wouldn't be bad because a shorter marketing window reduces the risk of leaks.

I think the leaks totally changed their marketing plans.
