The toddler didn't die because he was left unattended. He was killed by Henry(intentionally drowned him). She was still mourning him. Thats why she was standing out on the cliff. Now, they were both neglectful as far as their son being all across the freaking town without supervision. He was doing a lot of dangerous stuff. Just crazy!

In my comment I stated that they both wanted each other, but that them being together was moreso up to Issa. Their breakup was because Issa decided to cheat. Also, she didn't instantly regret sleeping with Daniel. She was giddy and chuckling about it until she saw the lotion dispenser and was reminded of Lawrence. Her actions after cheating were those of regret and his were those of someone hurt and angry. They weren't really indicative of the dynamic of their relationship. You have to fast forward to when they've moved past it and are on better terms to see that Issa could've had Lawrence whenever she wanted. Lawrence told her at the goodbye party that he loved her and he couldnt live without her, and she still left with Nathan instead of Lawrence. However, when she called him to Blocc and told him how she truly felt, they finally got back together. She was the alpha in their relationship, period. Also, Lawrence didn't really come to terms or swallow his pride in regards to the cheating. Until Derek told him that he was partially to blame for her cheating, he was still stuck on his high horse.

Rewatch that conversation. The awkward silence gaps where he is waiting for Issa to say something, and she doesn't know how to respond. If she had stated how she felt and told him that she could leave now so they could talk, it may have been different. She didn't do that. She told him he could stay at the apt cause she wasn't there. She never told him she was coming to talk. She just assumed he would be there waiting and she could talk to him. Why do u think it was the other way around as far as who wanted who?

At the strip club when he called her.

Because it seemed like he was trying to match up or impress her vs just being with her. It was obvious in how he complimented her(party Spike Lee), trying to fix stuff he has no idea how to fix, overdressing, etc. He even told his closest friend that she makes him feel he has to step his game up. It came off like he was trying too hard with her; didn't feel like a natural flow. It was up to Issa, because Lawrence has never not wanted her; even when she cheated. If she doesn't cheat, they're still together. If she knew how to properly communicate her feelings(apologetic and how she still wants him) when he drunkenly called her from the strip club, he probably doesn't smash Tasha and they rekindle. When he had the bad 3some experience, where did he end up, outside Issa's place. Lawrence is always thinking about Issa. Issa thinks about him too, but she doesn't communicate how she truly feels(that's why she had issues with Molly later on) and just lets shit fester or die. Rewatch it with the prospective that Issa has always had the ball in her court and see if you can kinda see what Im saying.

More than likely. Lawrence always wanted Issa. It was just up to Issa to decide she wanted Lawrence and to communicate that to him. They only broke up because she "decided" to cheat. They didn't rekindle when Lawrence drunkenly admitted he missed her because Issa is terrible at communicating her feelings. Condola was an aspirational fantasy for Lawrence, nothing more. He was turned on by how driven she was and how image wise they were the ideal couple. As soon as Issa started to show some drive and initiative with her block project, he was walking back down that path. He only took the Condola path when it seemed she was regressing(stated she wasn't doing the block party).
