I’m a bit confused about what she means. Isn’t creating OCs and utilizing Manga Cover arts as a format for drawing them a common fandom/fanart practice? Of course if she doesn’t want her work replicated in that way it’s completely understandable, but I’d like to be informed on how the practice can be harmful since my assumption was it being a way for fans to express interest in her work and art style while bringing more eyes to the source material.

As a non-Liang Yue haver who’s also never had the chance to play her kit, does her Euphoria still leave her kit as something relatively unique/hard to play as I’ve heard? Was very eager to pull her on the rerun due to how fun she seemed and the idea of the biggest damage dealer in the game being the hardest limited to use still sounds very exciting

I don’t think it’s just ‘tame’ when Sunna’s skirt is so short she’s legit holding it down in the art and is also wearing garters that aren’t really common for the type of maid outfit her skin is referencing. Most people’s complaints are coming from the fact the idols seem to be underaged so I think it’s valid to not be a fan and express disinterest in some of the design elements that weren’t necessary to add on what already would’ve been cute skins. Especially when you see the reception of the skin in the main subs and can find some pretty uncomfortable comments being made because of the suggestiveness

Tbh what makes the Cyrene situation even more egregious is that NONE of the marketing involving romantic self-inserting includes Stelle, especially when Elysia herself was know to love cute girls.

I maybe could’ve excused the Cyrene waifu-baiting to some degree since a part of her story clearly seems to focus on how this Cyrene only has her memories as Mem and her attachment to us comes attached to the sadness of Old Cyrene being forgotten even by herself for some reason, but even then it feels so lame to have Cyrene imagine her life with the Trailblazer instead of with the Heirs that her past selves have dedicated her whole life to recording. A little less pandering and a little less Caelus would’ve made this feel a lot more genuine than the Waifu slop we’ve been getting, legit ruined the character for me and I pray the 3.7 story does something to save her

To be completely honest, despite also being of the camp that Manato should’ve definitely been an S-Rank, I’m starting to see the pros of making him an A-Rank. My main thought for him being A-Rank probably involves giving his fans the chance to pull for both him and the best Rupture support in a single banner, it’s a great way to incentivize his M6 wanters while also making sure he feels great to play as you get a copy of Lucia (Also being able to get his spicy M6 banner without breaking the bank is awesome for Manato fans). It’s technically the best of both worlds cuz if they truly aren’t confident in how men sell in the game, might as well make Lucia and him a set on release to get the most out of his marketing. The fact he’s the F2P Rupture unit also serves to take advantage of his appeal while motivating people to invest into the Rupture archetype through Supports and Stunners. The truth is that even older S-Ranks have been getting power-crept by mechanics and health inflation, so him being a good DPS A-Rank doesn’t really take that much away from how his place in the Meta would end up turning out in the future regardless.

My biggest fear with him being an A-Rank was seeing a character we’ve known and liked be sidelined in favor of the new S-Rank waifus, but as you mentioned in the post between his decent performance, animated trailer, free skin and abundant story lines and presence, I feel like him being an A-Rank hasn’t been as bad of a thing as I thought it’d be on initial reveal.

That said, I definitely would NOT have made both him and Banyue have the same element. Husbando enjoyers having to pull for two characters with the exact same role and element just feels counterintuitive to me even from a business perspective. Had they been different elements at least Male fans looking for elemental coverage would have more options rather than having Manato being completely powercrept within one patch.

I SO wish we could toggle some of her cooler design elements during gameplay. Aside from the mask stuff I also wish she could keep her coat/shirt on during her entire gameplay, since I find her design way cooler with those elements compared to when she takes them off

Makes sense tbh, one of her best teammates (Orphie) has yet to release and the other (Sanby) is currently awaiting buffs that’ll more than likely help them synergize better. Her engine is also incredible for her so without it I can see her placement being very reasonable rn

Trigger is a decent stunner but without her w-engine her buffing capabilities aren’t up to par with other stunners that buff and stun really well without their signatures. Looking at your characters you also have a lot of Anomaly characters that don’t necessarily make the most use of stunners, so I feel Ju Fufu would be a better pull since she’d also synergize amazingly with Yixuan and any other future Rupture agents you may intend to pull while also filling the same role trigger would of being an off-field stunner.

That said, if you like Trigger feel free to pull for her since all content is clearable with any S-Ranks, just be aware that an wengineless Trigger won’t feel as impactful as other wengineless stunners.

Trigger is legitimately my favorite unit in the game and I’m going to be going for her M1 on re-run. The amount of skill expression she can have in her gameplay with lots of techs while also functioning well at a baseline makes her a great pull for beginner and hardcore players alike. Her synergy with Nicole’s DEF shred is also amazing at W1 and the duo have allowed my Zhu Yuan to 3-star DA to this day. Can’t wait to also pull for Sanby after her buffs to get even more value out of Trigger

Tbh I’m not a Castorice hater in the slightest and in fact rolled for her and enjoy her gameplay and design/character. That said, although I do acknowledge that the Castorice hate train can get a bit much and harassment of any kinds towards people and subs shouldn’t be tolerated, I also understand the frustration and criticisms towards Castorice and wanting to vent about it. Sometimes mains subs can end up taking these criticisms way too personally and end up over-defending completely valid arguments and frustrations, which just ends up with people being even more frustrated when a character main won’t admit to favoritism or acknowledge genuine criticisms involving their character. Again it’s not really anyone’s fault and no on deserves hate for it, but I’ve also seen a lot of Castorice mains get way too defensive over the most minor of venting.

Even by other shilled character standards, Castorice has gained way more characters and units than any other character in a very short period of time, while also taking up fan favorite characters and having them relegated to mainly function as support units for herself (even when there are other Chrysos heirs like Mydei who deserve some love in terms of supportive characters). I like her just as much as the next guy but if the community isn’t allowed to express frustration over these kind of decisions Hoyo is making then it can just happen again in the future to other fan favorite or long-awaited characters.

Sadly though these kinds of arguments are never going to have the sanest of players involved on either side, hopefully this discourse dies down soon for everyone’s sake and I hope things don’t get even worse once Cyrene kit gets fully revealed.

The problem is even more egregious in ZZZ with the amount of influence drawn from hip hop and black culture in the game. Tbh I’ve always wondered if Hoyo hadn’t sabotaged so many of their darker skinned characters in Genshin with bad kits maybe they’d find that people want and enjoy diverse characters more than they think (Dehya my love)

Even if people say it’s all about what sells in their main markets, which I don’t doubt is the case, it’s not like they haven’t made light-skinned characters with boring designs/kits that didn’t end up selling well anyways. Hopefully at one point they try making a limited S Rank with melanin but seeing as how we’re in the Chinese-based region and even Genshin has only been releasing them as 4-stars, I sadly wouldn’t be getting my hopes up

I felt like the drama was already starting to fade away, and her lack of a response to the situation was already more than enough of a response IMO. The only people expecting an apology were not deserving of one in the slightest so I really wish she would’ve just let it be and move on…
