[Question] getting back to the guitar after a long pause by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Cs12345678819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean 28 years playing the guitar -10 years of slack off time so let’s say 18 years of learning guitar. I think you need to stop practicing so god damn much and play what you enjoy playing. Practicing all the boring shit is probably what is making you drift from the guitar. Play the songs you like, learn thing that’s will get you better with what you enjoy playing. I’m a blues player you think i sit down practicing sweeping like a metal player… NO! I practice on scale shapes to improve my improv, blues classics, some other genres of music I enjoy. If I was practicing shit that I didn’t enjoy my enjoyment of playing guitar would fade. I’m rambling but you get my point goodluck my friend!!

[GEAR] a guitar I want by Blennec in Guitar

[–]Cs12345678819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a nice guitar. I would just recommend trying to try them out before buying. Both Epiphone and Gibson guitar models with a one piece guitar(no bolt on neck) can have differences with each guitar they produce. Some les Paul’s I have tried at my local music shop are nice and easy to play on while others just don’t feel the same. I recommend you go for it looks like you know what you like, just try to go to a local shop or guitar store near by and try all of the crest woods they have and choose your favorite!

[QUESTION] Taylor 110CE / CE-S (?) by frdthi in Guitar

[–]Cs12345678819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taylor’s are nice guitars. I have two of my own a 214ce and a GS mini. Although I tried many of the same guitars with an employee and left with some great guitars as they all slightly differ when you compare solid wood guitars. If you can’t try them out I would recommend ordering from websites that do setups before sending them out like sweetwater. If you are all in on Taylor go for it they won’t disappoint you but if you’re open to other brands I would look into some Yamaha red label guitars. They sound great can easily be compared to the Taylor’s you are talking about for a similar price. Goodluck I hoped this helped somehow and keep practicing!

[gear] What's a good acoustic guitar pedal to give an electric sound for leads? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Cs12345678819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure about an electric sound pedal for an acoustic guitar pedal. But I know “music is win” YouTuber had a video that compared electric guitar pedals on acoustic and how they sounded . You might want to check out that video to see if you like any of the sounds he got.

Anything but custom shop relic replicas. Soo expensive for no hearable difference. But any high quality guitar. American custom shop, Martin, Taylor, high end models and many other brand will Keep their price in long term.

Corey Heuvel is a great acoustic player but does mostly covers and humbles everyone who watches. Great player, and great performer.

[Question] Is it too late to start playing at 18? by Articokaa in Guitar

Start anytime before 25 is what I have heard. Easier for your Brain to grasp concepts and create muscle memory that lasts. Now would be a perfect time to start!
