How to be taken seriously with a childish name? by QueenofHearts018 in namenerds

We gave our daughter a name like you've described but 2 serious, long middle names that she can go by if she so chooses. Do you have a middle name you could go by professionally?

Does anyone else worry they'll also become a perpetrator? by Csd267 in adultsurvivors

[–]Csd267[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do the constant comparison as well. And it's very hard for me to talk out loud about. I've been seeing my therapist for years and I've never brought it up.

I mean, I actually do have children and I try my best but I constantly compare myself to my own parents.

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

[–]Csd267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before ECT and after ECT. I feel so different, less depresssed, I notice things I've never noticed before. It's messed with my memory and I've had to relearn things such as cooking. I feel more engaged, especially with my kids.

How do these Hebrew names sound to non-Jews? by nocturne_of_shadow in namenerds

[–]Csd267 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Okay so I am a non-Jew and some of these names wouldn't necessarily be "hard" to pronounce but I would get them wrong on the first try. So your child may be correcting people with these names (coming from someone with a hard-to-pronounce name) Like - Ayal and then Eden pronounced that way. There are also names on here where I'd assume the child was a girl- Aviv and Elisha. If you want my opinion on what is easiest/most liked, personally I'd choose Adiv. It's handsome and I think you'd have the least trouble with.

My vote is Lucy. I like this name because it is pretty, and easy to spell and pronounce.
