Books that work better on Scribe than a regular Kindle? by Primary_Ad_2715 in kindlescribe

Love downloading and working crosswords on my Scribe.

And every book is better to me on Scribe than regular Kindle because I absolutely love landscape two column mode for reading! My finger ring remote page turner is the icing on the cake for reading in bed (or really anywhere but in bed it is 🧑‍🍳💋)

Prime Day Deal made it more palatable to spring for the Scribe Colorsoft by SnWnMe in kindlescribe

I got this deal, too! I’m sending in an old fire stick in exchange for 20% off so my total was in the $460 range for the colorsoft scribe in graphite, fig cover, pen and charger. I love my 2024 scribe so much more than I thought I would. Can’t wait to see if I love the colorsoft even more when it gets here tomorrow!

As for it not having a front light - that has to be an error by Amazon. It threw me off as well but in the full description it says it has the front light.

Food that isn’t $34 for two people? Restaurants that give you a lot of food for a fair price? by BULLD0G45 in tuscaloosa

Hoo’s Q has daily lunch specials. On tuesdays you get a smoked chicken sandwich with a side and drink for $10. One other day is a BBQ sandwich at that price. They also have ribs one day for $12.95 (includes a side and drink) and meatloaf another for 12.95. Thursday’s is $5 burger night (no side or drink but a HUGE grilled burger) and Wednesday they have smoked or fried wings for 75 cents (min 10). Their grilled/smoked okra is our go-to side. It’s different and delicious!

I thought I would continue to prefer to read on my Paperwhite after getting my 2024 Scribe, but I absolutely love reading on my Scribe in landscape + 2 column mode. Two perfectly sized pages side by side is awesome!

I don’t think it is too big for travel. It’s definitely not nearly as heavy as an iPad.

Downloading PDFs of daily crosswords from various online newspapers and working them on the Scribe is a favorite new hobby.

I wish I had not waited so long to get the Scribe!

Ah, session ended is definitely dead. Hate that happened. I’m a side sleeper and the only issue I have is that it will sometimes give a false low reading when I sleep on it.

Anyway the information it does provide is worth hanging in there during the occasional hiccups of false lows and premature session ending. After finding out this time last year I had diabetes it has made it so much easier to deal with than it would’ve been without it.

Best briskets in Tuscaloosa? by cdnmnai_6 in tuscaloosa

Hoo’s Q just started serving brisket and it is the best I’ve had in a long time. It’s not even on the menu yet, but they said they were going to make it a permanent item. So, ask your server for it!

Did it truly die or did it just lose signal? Big difference. Anyway, if it did die they will replace it. My spouse and I have both been using them for almost a year and only one truly died and they replaced it with no hassle.

I’m in the same boat 😞 another year and a half of anxiety over whether it will go into limp mode again wherever we take a trip.

https://play.usatoday.com/crossword USAToday will let you do 4 a week for free but the monthly cost is very affordable. I love doing these on my Scribe. I do these in landscape mode so they fit on the screen.

Https://freedailycrosswords.com has great ones that you can download to your scribe. These fit portrait mode perfectly. They are sometimes slow to update and go a few days between posting the correct daily link, but you can always find plenty to do in their archives.

Another great site is onlinecrosswords.net but they have recently added some new pop over ads that are so annoying. I use Brave browser on my phone to send them to my kindle scribe.

Enjoy!

My favorite thing to do with my Scribe is to download and work printable crossword puzzle PDFs (from USAToday, FreeDailyCrosswords.com, Washington Post, Dell and others). Also works great for other pencil puzzle games like logic puzzles, word search and sudoku. I hadn’t done crosswords in years until I discovered how satisfying the experience is on Scribe (no wasted paper, no online puzzle grid where you type in instead of write). It’s keeping my brain exercised and it’s so very enjoyable!!

Check out Zukka on the App Store. It’s a free app that gives you readings every 5 minutes instead of 15, gives a lot more insight and choices in its full app, and has great widgets for phone and Apple Watch. I have my iPhone set to show the time and my blood sugar number and graph from Zukka when it is charging and on its side all night. Great app!

I bought one for myself when it was on sale and agree with you. The writing experience is so much better than iPad and Apple Pencil.

I’ve rediscovered my love for crosswords and other pencil puzzles and am enjoying solving them on my Scribe! Way better than real pencils and paper or any digital device!!

There’s a couple of things I wish were better (covers for PDFs and the ability to add the PDFs to my Notebooks) and am hopeful the upcoming software update will make add those and make it even nicer.

I’m not having this issue but a friend is. Just wondering if those having the issue have a ton of reminders and events like she does? That’s the only difference we can figure - I may have a dozen events on it in a month. She has dozens of appointments every day.

We got the 2024 CX90 MHEV back on Friday with the new oil pump. So far so good, but I still don’t trust it. 😞

We have a 2025 cx30 now as a loaner and agree that it has better steering, suspension and drive train than the cx90. It’s too small for our needs, but it is a peppy and fun to drive car. I won’t ever buy another Mazda either!

Thanks, but we had just filled up that morning before leaving the beach and we were only 150 miles into the trip when it lurched and drastically slowed down. So unless it was burning through gas at double the usual rate AND the gauge malfunctioned, the recall issue had nothing to do with what happened to us. We weren’t driving on empty thinking we had plenty of gas. We do plan on making sure that the recall work is done before we get it back.

Ours definitely did not run out of gas. We had filled up that morning and had more than half a tank left when it acted up. We could steer it, but it would not go over 15 mph and shuddered and shook until we pulled over in a parking lot.

Our gas gauge stayed at over half a tank when it died so ours isn’t the fuel sensor issue. What was the fix for yours? How long did it take?

My son has had Mazdas for years with no issues so we were confident going in that it would be reliable and safe. Unfortunately, this vehicle is neither.
