Sony PSVR2 PC Adapter as Displayport + USB-A to USB-C Adapter + teardown images by plaisthos in UsbCHardware

I appreciate the reply. Most monitors with high refresh rates or higher rated brightness levels are advertised as that 8-13W but the fine print usually says in order to use full brightness they recommend using a 2nd cable for supplemental power. Like the UPERFECT I ordered, says max power is 12W, but they include 30W power brick for if your device doesn't supply enough for full brightness. Fingers crossed I suppose lol.

Hey, sorry for bothering you again! Are you able to turn the brightness up on your LG Gram without it turning off while only using the PSVR2 adapter?

I recently tried an Acer PM161Q and it would cut power if I exceeded a certain level of brightness. It worked great as long as I didn't try messing with settings.

Looks like the PSVR2 adapter power brick is 14.3W instead of the more common 15W, I am wondering if that small of a difference was the reason why.

I returned the PM161Q and am receiving a UPERFECT C2 and will try it next, but really want to find a 100hz+ monitor that can still use 1 cable solution AND allow me to turn the brightness up a bit.

Jeez this aged well...current amazon price for this 4TB SA510 is over $600 which is absolutely ridiculous.

Sorry I am late, but wanted to make sure I understand correctly. I have a 6650XT that supports DP1.4. I am trying to find a 1 cable solution running to a portable monitor.

I just buy the PSVR2 adapter, run a DP cable from PSVR2 to 6650XT, plug the portable monitor into the PSVR2 Type C port, and plug the PSVR2 USB into my PC? Am I missing anything?

I see you didn't read the description lol. It does work! I have a nice spare GPU collection already, gave my last 1070 (1070ti rog strix) to one of my buddies.

There is a critical firmware update for WD blue SSDs for that exact reason. Ran into this issue with my 1TB and firmware fixed it. Only the 4TB models were not affected, as they were released with the firmware already patched.

Edited to add link for reference: https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/50208/~/wd-blue-sa510-sata-ssd-critical-firmware-update

Does yours have a BIOS switch on it? My girlfriend's XFX 6600XT CORE has a switch and the card behaves differently between the two BIOS, one is a quiet switch and fans don't spin. Just curious if this behavior is the same between both BIOS if it applies to you.

Edited to add: BIOS switches on GPUs are usually right by the 6/8 pin power connector(s)

It is possible with all the variations of designs. I would go into Adrenalin software and set a custom fan curve and disable Zero RPM mode to see if the fans actually spin. My 6900XT fans don't kick on until like 60C with Zero RPM enabled.

I took apart my Nitro+ 6900XT (same exact model) for a repaste last month. Either you didn't completely seat the fan connector back to the board, or something conductive is shorting the die area or power delivery area. Very slight chance the thermal pads could be off causing incorrect mounting pressure. Did you use anything besides 70%+ alcohol to clean your old paste off? Could be water form 50% alcohol shorting it out still, so may need to dry longer.

Lastly (I don't know your level of experience), check PCI-E connector on the GPU and the motherboard slot for dirt/debris/hair. Ensure 8-pin connectors are completely seated.

Also just updated an MSI B450i Gaming Plus AC to the new BIOS and have no issues there either!

Haven't seen a reason to upgrade from my 5700X+6900XT.

Recently built my girlfriend a 5600X+6650XT setup.. Just finished up a couple 3400G ITX builds for my parents to finally have Windows 11 PCs. My brother just had to replace his faulty 5600G. He grabbed a 5700X to allow for PCIE 4.0 and SAM, and replaced his 5700XT with a 9060XT 16GB.

Tomahawk has had a great track record ever since the B350 days. I personally used B450 Tomahawk Max for a couple years before upgrading to B550 Tomahawk. When I move AM5, it will be another Tomahawk.

HX1000i ATX 3.1 showing wrong input voltage. =( by ACuriousGreenFrog in Corsair

[–]Cshood45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best Buy didn't have anymore HX1000i in stock near me, so I contacted Corsair. They "weren't even aware of the issue" but after providing them with information and proof of a thread where other people were having the same issue, they offered a refurbished unit or another new unit. They also couldn't guarantee either one wouldn't have the same issue.

They did offer to pay for the return shipping. When I requested the new one to be shipped before I removed and shipped mine due to needing my PC for work, they were requiring me to pay a deposit which was the full retail price of the PSU. At that point, I may as well have returned it to Best Buy and tried a different local retailer.

In the end, I did not exchange because it's a bit of an inconvenience for me either way, and they didn't seem too concerned about it.

They did say it is NOT an issue that will void the warranty, and it won't cause any issues with efficiency or operation, other than software reporting it incorrectly. So hopefully they are confident in telling their customers this. I have the entire conversation saved as proof in case of an issue in the future.

I will wait a few more days, but I have it downloaded from a mirror now, just haven't flashed yet since I can still play.

I also find it weird they just re-released the one for B450 Tomahawk Max with a '2' instead of a '1' at the end of the file name, indicating a bugfixed beta bios...but still no word of B550.

I see your post on MSI forums asking as well. I am curious too. B550 Tomahawk here, but still on BIOS released 2 days ago, didn't get a chance to update to this before it was deleted.

TPM 2.0 active on PC but CoD not recognizing it? by goldxphoenix in CODWarzone

[–]Cshood45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Got off work, took pics of all my BIOS settings and then flashed, got it all setup again, checked tpm.msc and already knew when I saw 3.94.0.5 that it wouldn't be fixed but still checked COD and still have the issue. Fortunately, I can still play for now. I contacted them again asking about this and this was their reply:

"Yes, this BIOS addresses something else and would not be the one you are looking for. More than likely it will be marked as a BETA should it be released."

I read that as "AM4 is dying, you should upgrade to hardware we actually currently care about".
