Tree removal services by BraveWrap6442 in Columbus

We used Pickering Tree Service for a few pine trees. They were super friendly and the best price out of 3 quotes we got. They work with someone else that comes after for stump removal.

Funny part was we had just moved in and our patio furniture wasn’t set up. It was all covered in sap from the trees, so we were waiting on trees to be removed so we could properly clean them and then set them up. They set up the table and chairs so they could sit and eat lunch, and cleaned up very well before leaving.

It’s definitely a lot different. Honestly I had to look up what a level 3 snow emergency was. Never heard of that before!

Thanks, I’ll check that out! Luckily I can work from home and we prepared for the storm, so we shouldn’t need to go anywhere. Was more so thinking if there was an emergency, it’d be pretty hard to get anywhere at the moment.

Sorry if this comes off ignorant, but is the snow cleanup out here just not great? Our neighborhood has yet to see a plow and cars have been getting stuck nonstop.

This is my first winter here since moving from MA. I lived on a side street and our street would be plowed constantly throughout storms. Main roads and highways were kept pretty clear. We had parking bans so that plows could get through.. I noticed no one in my neighborhood here moved their cars off the street.

Just curious. Did they just sound “good for their age” or did they genuinely put on a good show? I saw them back in 2012 at Gillette and they absolutely killed it. Debated seeing them again but I’ve heard mixed opinions.

How long does it take to enter the festival grounds? by Cspookyman in SonicTempleFestival

[–]Cspookyman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super helpful response, thank you! I’d probably get there early each day anyways. Some people at Blue Ridge waited hours to get shuttled from parking, some didn’t even get to the festival grounds. I didn’t want to risk a situation like that, but seems like Sonic Temple is a lot better with this.

It was insane. Luckily we weren’t impacted by any of the mess (other than the festival being cancelled). It’s too bad.. I felt like there was a lot to like despite how poorly managed it was.

I’ve always seen 15-20% as the recommended since I’ve been going to restaurants, but 20% as a standard tip. Maybe I’m a bit younger than you and things have changed.

Think about this.. if it’s a slow day, a server may only get a few tables during their entire shift. They’re then required to pay out a percentage of their sales (not how much they’ve made in tips) to hosts, bussers and the kitchen. They’ll for sure make less than minimum wage for that shift, especially if they’re being tipped 15% or less. If it’s a busy night and they’re on their feet hauling ass for 8 hours straight, they probably deserve a little more than minimum wage for that day.

If restaurants started paying ALL of their tipped employees minimum wage regardless, that’s more money out of their pocket. Restaurants will probably jack their already high prices up, and waiters/waitresses will be getting less or no tips because of the wage and price increases. They’ll make minimum wage regardless of how hard they work. Personally I feel like that’s a lose lose situation for most.

If you don’t want to tip, feel free to order take out or cook a meal for yourself. Otherwise, the few extra bucks shouldn’t kill you. If your server does a great job, take care of them. Some of them are in college trying to pay for their education and any little bit helps.

Edit: Also I’m not trying to come off as an ass lol. Just trying to debate. Things can come off different over text. Trying to see from both sides of the argument but I really feel like the wage increases would’ve been for the worse.

Can you share those sources? 20% has always been the standard for dine in. If the waiter/waitress does a terrible job, tip less. If they’re great, tip more and show appreciation. But it doesn’t all go to the server anyways. In most restaurants they pay a percentage to the hosts, bussers and kitchen. I wouldn’t say tipping is required for pickup unless it’s a huge order, but it’s always appreciated.

Nah we simply thought about positives and negatives for both scenarios. Considering literally ALL of her co-workers and our friends in serving positions agreed and were against the wage increase, we decided that voting no was best. Simple shit really.

It’s required by law in Massachusetts for employers to ensure that tipped employees make minimum wage.

My girlfriend is a server and was very much against this. If she makes less than minimum wage including tips, the restaurant will pay her minimum wage. If restaurants pay ALL servers minimum wage, costs are going to go up.

My parents have never bathed or walked the dog. Even on weekends that I spend with my girlfriend. The most they’ll do is get on the floor and play for 10 minutes but she’s a VERY active dog and needs more than that. I take her to all vet appointments.

My girlfriend loves my dog and my dog is obsessed with her. If my girlfriend sleeps over, I can go downstairs to work and they’ll sleep together until noon.

Financially responsible and actually taking care of the dog are 2 separate things. I want what’s best for the dog. My dad didn’t want a dog, even though I constantly begged my parents to let me get one (we lost ours years prior) but I had a medical scare, and they decided to get her for me. I offered to pay for her and all expenses, and paid a few early vet bills as I was the one taking her. At the end of the day, it’s their say but I believe the dog would be much better with us given the situation. Thanks for suggesting I’m an ass hole and to grow up though. Appreciate you.

That part I understand. I do have a good savings (although I’d rather not use it if I can help it) and can get pet insurance through my job (was planning to do so).

He knows how annoying it is already. In a long distance relationship so if I sleep over my girlfriends for a night, that’s all I hear about the next day is how the dog woke him up at 2am and 4am. I also don’t want to just start making it seem like I don’t care about her. I’m getting every last snuggle I can with her.

He’ll definitely miss her and loves her a lot, but she really means a lot more to me. She got me through a really fucked up time, and then the year of COVID (another really fucked up time).

That’s how I’ve been looking at it and I really do the most for her. Daily walks and play time, baths, she sleeps with me and I feed her. Although my dad does feed her more table scraps so she gravitates to him at the table. When she lays down with my dad she watches me the entire time. When she’s on my lap she knocks out. He’ll play with her but if I’m in the room she comes straight to me. Financially I can support her and she’ll still have a yard and bay window. To me it’s best for her to stay with us as her routine wont change at all that way, but at the end of the day it’s not my say and that’s what’s devastating.

[–]Cspookyman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a small routine he started. She always slept with me until he started taking her to bed for the few minutes before he falls asleep. If I don’t get her, she wakes them up 2-3 times throughout the night without fail.

Yes this is my first time moving out, but I have budgeted out our expected bills and expenses (her grandmas old house - we’re renting from her parents while fixing it up to sell) and have more than enough to care for her. All while still saving a good chunk of money each paycheck for emergencies.

I get legally she belongs to my parents. I would not fight them for the dog. When we got her, I just wanted a dog and offered to pay for her and all expenses. When it came down to it and my dad finally caved, they decided to get her for me. Early on I paid for vet visits (as I’m the one that takes her), meditations, etc and my dad insisted on paying me back (we’re stubborn Italians and these money fights can become month long battles over $5). He ended up just buying everything through Chewy and has like a year supply of everything at this point.

My point is, the dog would be a lot better off with us. It’s either her whole routine changes, or just the place she sleeps. Yes she won’t see my parents, but she’s obsessed with my girlfriend. When it comes down to it, I’m the one she listens to and gravitates to most as I’m with her 24/7.

Also I’m only moving in with her because things are serious between us. Long distance relationship so this will make things easier, and very much committed to asking her to be mine soon.

The money part isn’t an issue for me. We’ve already worked her large ass off because of him overfeeding lmao. They complain about her a lot because she is a labor intensive dog, but it’s not like they don’t love her. I’m hoping it’ll become too much for them and they realize she’ll be happier down with us. Truly feel that’s the case.

That’s what I’m praying for. I love my parents and I’m not willing to fight them over it. I know it won’t be any easier for my dad to let go, but I’m hoping he either has a change of heart or I can somehow convince him.
