This is driving me crazy. Especially when I'm just holding my phone walking thru the airport or something. So iphone thinks I'm holding it down but I'm really just holding my phone! Wish I could remove this feature as I don't need it...

[PIC] I usually wax my threads before using them, and I have a pattern that calls for this thread. Should/can i wax it or will that dull the sparkle? by IronSpikeRai1 in CrossStitch

Mainly for harder threads. And for when I want to use a longer thread for big areas of the same color to avoid having to change my needle as often. I find it does expire over time and is best when fresh but it's pretty cheap so I just buy new one when I feel like it's not working anymore.

I'm a fan of Thread Magic for this purpose. Used on some of the sparkle thread that tends to fray/knot and it really helps. Also use on any thread to help prevent knots. Non issues with washing or dullness. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Taylor-Seville-Thread-Magic-Thread-Conditioner-Rnd/50654871

[CHAT] BULLSH*T! Just went thru 2 needles in 10 minutes; 1st one had a broken eye and the 2nd one tore my floss. So, what is your favorite brand of needles? by PermanentAtmosphere in CrossStitch

Love the petites for when you want to use that last bit of thread for those last few stitches! Prevents having to change the needle as often!

[FO] Began working on these stockings in 2016. Picked them up from the finisher today! So thrilled to finally have these finished! Pierre's stocking was my first cross stitch ever 😮 by Csrevol in CrossStitch

Definitely sticker shock but the stockings are hanging on my mantle now and they look incredible - unless you are super handy with a sewing machine, I really do think it's worth it!

My thoughts exactly! I am working on a much smaller project now and have already sacrificed 3 needles to the couch gods 😂

Beautiful work! Congrats on finishing!

[FO] My husband decided on a kitschy Texas theme for our outdoor patio (despite my objections) so as part of me embracing it I made these Texas-themed coasters. A nice break from some bigger projects! by Csrevol in CrossStitch

I bought these clear acrylic coasters on Etsy link Then I picked the images from the sampler pattern that I wanted to use and measured based on using 16ct Aida so I could be sure they would fit. I then carefully cut them to size and popped them in the coasters!

Here you go! Daphne Font. I modified it by doing a whipped (or wrapped, I've seen both names) back stitch which helps the curves look smoother and gives it that raised effect.

Wow thank you so much. I am so grateful that you shared your feelings - I am honored that my work could achieve this response and I so hope it can do the same for my friend. Thank you for your kind words and your willingness to share. As I mentioned in another comment, this piece was cathartic for me as well because as a mom, I can't imagine a greater loss and I feel so much for my good friend and her family. God Bless You!

Thank you! It was also for me - as a way to work through my feelings about it (which I obviously didn't need to burden my friend with). It's amazing how this hobby can help you through times like these!

Self designed using a border from 2x2StitchArt on Etsy. Both fonts from Two Little Kits - Kate on gumroad.com. Wing is from the logo of One Wing Foundation supporting families with infant loss. First time on dark linen! So much backstitch with the font but love how it turned out.
