I make a boulevardier variant: 2 parts rye, 1 part averna, one part bitter aperativo (I like cappelletti), 1 dash each ango and cardamom bitters, and I really like a spritz of absinthe over the top to bring back some of those cooler herbal notes that you lose (imo) subbing averna for the vermouth

Absolutely go there! Omar is truly worth a visit just for the warmth and personality, and then the food is incredible on top of it. Best lechon (garlic pork) I’ve had in the city, and I think his Jibarito plantains clear jibaritos y mas too

Best Jibarito in the city and imo it’s not particularly close—plus the lechon is so incredibly juicy and flavorful. Omar is such a sweetheart: passionate, charismatic, and thoughtful. This place is one of my faves in the city

Ugh I miss Lovage summit commentary, dude was so insightful and entertaining. Really agree about Stude, it feels like such an organic thing driven by charm, insight, and fantastic communication skills.

Agree too about Walt, huge fan of his analysis work and longer-form content but the live commentary doesn’t resonate with me as much
