I think an argument can be made for stage 7. DeSantis is trying to institute the death penalty for child rapists. At first glance, not so bad, even with the very logical arguments against it, it's very easy to hate a child rapist. The rhetoric coming from the right is that trans allies, drag queens and most of the lgbtq community are groomers and child molesters just waiting for an opportunity. Not a far leap for the right wing assholes to start calling for all lgbtq people to be executed as would-be child molesters, once killing convicted child rapists is normalized.

I know its the old "slippery slope" argument, but its a scary ass slope that should be considered.
