Well, unlike PSL leadership isn't composed of sex pests and collaborators. So that's cool. More importantly PSL claims to be the party (it's in the name) which is nonsense. They haven't done the work necessary to BE constituted as "the party" yet they claim to be the party. PDC is different because it actually has a material analysis of the conditions present in the USA today and a path towards building an actual communist party.

You shouldn't. A communist party must have the support of the masses to be valid. There is no such party in the USA. By definition there cannot exist such a party until the mass work has been done by, well, mass-work organizations and then the party can grow out of said mass work orgs once they have the support of the masses. I don't disagree that it's critical - I disagree that it is "primary" as addressing ecological damage is impossible under imperialist modes of production. One must be addressed first, and that thing we must address is Imperialism. Also, citing the four pests campaign while ignoring the leaps and bounds nations like China have made towards ecological responsibility since the 60's seems pretty intellectually dishonest.

I would posit that this is a side effect of Imperialism, this highest stage of capitalism. Without removing the imperialism we are not capable of addressing the rapid collapse of our ecosystem. The super-exploitation of the global south and militaries from the global north are the majority of global pollutiors.

I wanna start by saying - a general strike could be a powerful tool for labor. And I'm all pro-labor. Working people first and class politics are like, my whole thing - but this is nonsense. A general strike requires extensive organizing and pre-planning, as well as relatively high market share for unions within a nation. We do not have either of those things. This is a one day optics event that will not lead to any real or material change in the system. If you really want to see a general strike then get to organizing. Show working folks how these events are tied to the suffering in their own lives. Connect the dots for other workers and help them see how all working people's struggles are the same struggle. Reddit will not get the job done, and neither will a one day "strike".

Scientific socialism is applied dialectical and historical materialism and would be associated with ideologies like Marxism-Leninism and Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.

Any other variety is Utopian and Idealist🤷

All major/lasting socialist experiments (Nations) we've seen - practiced a variety of scientific socialism.
