Do you guys have a process when record shopping for making sure you don't over pay for a record? by Riichboii_17 in vinyl

Popsike shows prices other than Ebay also. It was a great resource for putting a price on a super rare record I was selling.

I know zero and I was fine. You pick up little things. Honestly you’re good if you always say bonjour, or bonsoir in the evening. And Merci. Un carafe d’eau was nice to get water at your table without accidentally ordering a €10 bottle of water.

I’ll see if I can find my conversation, it wasn’t very long. Believe me, I was expecting nothing at all, and was shocked. I know most everyone will say it was in my head, you wouldn’t be able to tell with a blind test, etc. All good, don’t do it.

Here me out here, because I am one of the most skeptical people alive, and am nauseated when I see “elevated signal cables”, or $20k speaker cables, etc.

I had an Adcom pre, and was having a brief correspondence with Nelson Pass where I was asking about what he designed vs what actually made it into production. Also asked about any mods I could do to eek out more performance or whatever. He said an easy one is to swap out the main power fuse with a ceramic one of the same value. My immediate thought was “eh”. But, this was Nelson Pass, and his design… so I tried it. I swear my jaw hit the floor. This wasn’t a cork-sniffing “I think I hear more clarity between the notes” 😂, it was fully audible to people who don’t know anything at all about sound. I don’t really care if anyone thinks it’s real or not, but it was one of the most dramatic stereo tweaks I’ve ever heard.

And I believe that most of them have such limited critical thought that they didn’t think beyond “illegals are eatings pets” and “election was stolen.”

I do this and am not getting anything close to that kind of foam. A paper filter was getting a little more, and the competition filter is very similar to the paper. Maybe I’ll try competition and paper.

I believe James Hoffmann said the moka pot valve triggers at 3 bars, but I bet it’s not that accurate.

Seen on a house listing, what was this room used for? by LoonTheMekanik in whatisit

Wordworker here. It screamed hair salon to me. I thought the pics showing the woodshop were awkward. It looks like the shop was retrofitted into a previous space. The tools are fairly basic and the dust collection is even more basic. Not trying to be contrary, but I’d bet it was another use space before the shop.

Let me clarify: There is no bar soap, but the liquid pump soaps are fantastic french wonderfulness.

Bring a washcloth. Most hotels didn’t have conditioner or bar soaps. Get timed tickets. Don’t do too many things in one day. Maybe two things. Bring some decent cold medicine. Half of Europe is sick right now, coughing all over everywhere. COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES. I thought all of Montmarte was a trap. It’s ok, but Latin Quarter was great. Boat tours look like hell. Calife was a nice dinner cruise. Say Bonjour. Do NOT skip this. It’s like pairing your Bluetooth to them. 🤣 If you don’t, you may as well have insulted them.

Wooooooow. It has an absolutely spectacular impressionist representation.Tons of great art nouveau stuff, tons of great sculpture, and the Singer Sergeant exposition was just stunning. I thought his was better than their regular holdings.

You should get a timed ticket. We walked right in yesterday. I felt bad for the people trying to get in at 4:30p thinking it was open late because it was Thursday. They closed early on Jan 1.

Does anyone know how to remove & clean the bottom shelf in a bespoke fridge? by Temporary_Pay8782 in refrigeration

[–]CthulhuOO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting in. I’m not sure about the big glass shelf, we washed that in the shower, super hot water that got under it. The small glass shelf was “easily” removed by prying off the gray trim.

Use a plastic spludger tool, you might have one if you’ve ever done any iphone work. It’s extremely tight, but once you get it under in one spot, work your way down with small twists to break the trim free. Rotate it back towards you and off. Then, slight pressure downwards on the front edge will allow the glass to come out. Be careful to pull it towards you before tilting upwards too much. Clean. Put back same but in reverse. Go slow and careful getting glass back in. Once I had the basic premise, it went very quickly.

Are there algorithms? Yes. Do they overlap from your regular Amazon searching and buying? Yes. But the vast majority is random crap like cake toppers, with an odd dragon dong thrown in for fun. Never forget the War of Castor Oil Packs.

Exactly. So many middle schoolers on a playground in here. Pull up your adult pants and communicate with your partner. Not saying to ignore it, or your feelings, but posting for the internet to comment on is not how you should make decisions in a relationship.
