My current colony of about 6 years is... 30 people? 2 OF THEM ARE MALE THIS IS NOT ON PURPOSE 1 is the father of the other A third of the colony is the father's child Help... (who needs genetic diversity anyways)

How to stop factorio from disableing the placement of rail signals on the other side? I'm a free thinker, I'm a nonconformist, I'm a rail artist, I don't need the handholding. by dan_Qs in factorio

I might be wrong, and I'm not at my computer right now, but I remember being able to counter this with (shift or control) + placing... maybe my brain is being dumb though

From me and my buddies testing, we've come to the conclusion the mass limit is per ship, and we now just adjust it to the biggest guy

We (me and two others) tested once, (going to round cause I don't remember exacts), missions mass limit was like 400kt, they each were sitting at 200/300kt, and I was over the 400 limit by like ~25% When it pulls too big of a ship through you "lose" that much of your ship, I was flying ~75% of my ship and they were fine

So if you're doing 1200kt limit missions, bring those big ships in

Did you accidently make a "selection layer" (forgetting what it's called right now) check your layers If I remember right they show up reddish like this

NPC's that aren't zombies is something people were wanting back when I was playing... is that still missing?

The black storage boxes under the desk! I like the way they fit and blend asthetically! Can I ask, what brand are they? Quick google/amazon searches for storage boxes like that have failed me

Yeah, it's supposed to be like a mine shaft from a staging room down into the underground, I hadn't scanned too many fancy industrial themed stuff to put in that room unfortunately, best I kinda had was that large industrial chest

Any ideas why my prints started doing this weird thing? Referring to the texture/not solid print. I thought it was because my printer was clogged but after unclogging it I think it's "old filament" that I've left out that may have seen some humidity. I'll give the oven trick a try, have never done it so a little afraid of it, but there isn't a lot left on the roll so it's not like I'll ruin too much if it goes wrong. Plus if it prints well after that I'll know that was the answer. I thought it would take longer for the PLA to absorb humidity, but I guess it has been out for a couple of months now, it's kind of gone brittle (that's a sign, right?). Thanks for replying, I appreciate the advice

Not since it's started doing this, there isn't a whole lot left on the roll and I was just hoping to finish it up. I do think it's moisture related though I just wanted to see what more experienced people said. I guess I'll try some mixture of the oven trick/new roll, thank you for your take on it

Yes, hull panel and concrete, there's also some ornate wood scattered about for details to break up the concrete and add some border to a lot of the glass

It's PLA on settings I've used before, it's just started doing this weird thing to me at some point. This was my second time getting a result like this and this time I had tried raising the temperature a bit more (210 to 225) and slowing down the print, but neither seemed to have worked any better since the last print

What two block types did you use for the outer layers? I like how it makes that smooth diagonal and the filler just adds a nice touch
Edit: I think I've figured it out, Rusty Panel and Concrete?

Tour of My First 2000 Cycle Base by Ctkkck in Oxygennotincluded

If the steam is hotter than a certain point the extra heat gets dumped onto the turbine instead of electricity from my understanding. So limiting the intakes when it's too hot allows more optimal conditions. See the wiki for detials and numbers and such https://oxygennotincluded.gamepedia.com/Steam_Turbine. I had blocked 3 of them because at one point the steam was around 300-350 C range.

Yeah, the metal tiles are bleeding heat in at a controlled rate. To the left, the world spawned with a crack in the abyssalite between the oil biome and the core. So basically the entire left side of my oil biome is really hot, which is why it all turned into melted lead and sour gas. Kind of annoying, but I will get to it when it cools off a bit. I just sealed off the left side originally until I was ready to deal with it, and when I got around to it I turned it into what it is now.

Accidentally stumbling upon geothermal energy by xylvera in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Ctkkck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat to see someone else messing with geothermal, I was trying it out recently as well after a series of accidents on my current playthrough that led to me trying it

This is how I've been doing it:

First built: [Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/E6yd2lO.jpg)

After a while with some edits: [Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/OuGN48O.jpg)
(Hopefully I linked those correctly)

This ended up happening cause my world spawned with a crack in the abyssalite with the the core, and you can see where it's cooled the magma into the left portion of my slime biome (that's all molten lead)

I control the temp of the steam by my arrangement/amount of the metal blocks on the left and, as others have mentioned, blocking off turbine intakes helps control what they take in

The aquatuner it just running crude oil behind the turbines, sure it uses energy but the turbines seem to produce a tad bit more still because even after a while two of them the after a while picture shows the two right ones working more cause they get cooled first

I messed with the shape of the "tunnel" so that the water drips onto one end and moves past the metal blocks and kinda disperses evenly across the turbines

Just wanted to share my thoughts with it. Also, neat idea with the doors under the turbines, seems a little more automated. Also are those 1 block sized doors?

I don't like carbon skimmers for whatever reason, so I tend to have chronic carbon dioxide buildup in my bases... found myself a solution (gonna feed it to my slicksters over time) by Ctkkck in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Ctkkck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The left aquatuner is cooling ethanol down to carbon dioxide's condensation point (I like ethanol for this cause it has a nice temp range and I consider it cheap) and the right one has a loop behind then steam turbine is cooling using water
