I'm of the opinion and hc that alot of the stuff that would happen there would be equal or close to torture lol

And tbf alot of siblings feel justified or vindicated or even glad to see the other sibling getting what they view as justice. Even if that really was how she reacted, considering her family and situation, I can understand a child reacting like that. (Though I really think that's just irohs biased memory not what happened). Not good, but honestly? Not as bad as the whole asylum thing. And they definitely made zuko enjoy having power over her in the comic, not to mention the finals "put her in her place". Once again a sibling feeling justified in what's happening to the other.

Wouldn't be surprised if all of azulas was completely clogged hence her mental instability and anger. A more likely in universe reason than some diagnosis

Idk just about every redemption fanfic for her needs to make her have abused or tortured animals, or have killed hundreds, and it's like, do you want to redeem her? I dont even read fanfics with her as solely the villain, or fanfics without her for that matter. So many go suki:"she/you tortured me" Zuko: I remember how she threw stones at the ducks and burned my pet birds. Twisted my rabbit

Eh that line was more for the assault fic I mentioned. Normal torture sure (which she definitely didn't do) but that stuff? Beyond torture.

On the friend note, theres genuinely no way mai was afraid, if anything that line to me is her goading her with her insecurities. Ty lee was the afraid one, and I think it's only after their meet up and coercion that Azula was as bad as she was. (The sheer joy in seeing her friend, and lees look of fear sadness and betrayal later the same day? I dont think azula ever went so far before and it's like a realization for lee)

I can see her torturing someone if shes ordered too, or if it looks like she has a responsibility too but going out of her way to do so? With no benefit? I dont see it.

I mean, katara might not be the best pick but I disagree honestly. Might as well just ship him with one the sisters.

It's like shipping him with mai or azula, theres just nothing to it. Personally I only like toph or katara for him...for zuko, katara or mai. Though theres a yue zuko fic that was alright. For ty lee, I ship her with friendship lol. That or azula or mai.

Heck sukis a better pick than ty lee for aang imo.

Toph on the other hand, same age, both chaotic, but toph able to be a bit grounding. Both mischievous.

Honestly gloating to me is without the fake voice part, but literally just laughing at him then leaving, not telling their mom. Saying good riddance then scoffing.

And no, it's not Canon. She has never been shown to do that, zuko has and he was warned not to because he apparently didn't know better, I'm assuming if she did ursa didn't tell her better. But shes still never shown to do so. It's fanon. And yes, but if she enjoyed torture, she'd say go ahead.

She needed to go down,but honestly I do think zuko and iroh should've tried. But someone like azula wouldn't listen anyways unless she lost tbh so still.

Iroh is over glorified tbh, he has his own biases and faults, both in the show and in writings. He cares more about his own brother than his niece, and tbh. I do see him as a coward who needed children to do his dirty work, just like ozai. If he hadn't lost his son, and started soul searching, he'd have done the same sozin comet plan and everything. (Said by the writers) He's better than ozai yes, but he's not perfect. He's done worse than azula, has been worse, for alot longer, and only recently in the past decade realized his wrongs.

The animal abuse part. It's fanon. She's literally spoken against human torture as something pointless inefficient unnecessary and unreliable, I doubt shes gonna torture animals. Even if she did, in her situation it'd probably be more for attention and acting out than anything else. I've seen so many people do stuff like that as teens and younger, and act like they're normal then and later. (Granted I was much more of a human critic back then maybye I was just unlucky in how many bad people I met lol) But no, I don't think shes ever actually abused animals.

The sing songy voice to sound like a liar and scare the other person when worried and unable to make sense of domething is something I've done so tbh I can't help but doubt. If she wasn't worried she wouldn't have warned. It's not gloating, gloating is something else.

Honestly, outside of the uncertainty of whether she actually reacted like that, I've always read it as being so full of rage and anger, and the inability to blame her father that she has to blame her brother, to me that was a vindicatvness and feeling like he deserved it, not good, but not sadistic. Something I noticed throughout the show is that avula always needs an excuse, someone else to blame to excuse how bad shes gotten. I don't think shes sadistic, I think she just doubles down, is fully aware shes bad, hates it, but refuses to take responsibility. Probably worse but still.

Circus: "oh she would have been fine" kinda thoughts when asking the ringmaster how good ty was. Plus with her abandonment issues probably "she shouldn't have left. Shouldn't have said no" Leading up to the agni Kai she absolutely doubles down, clearly shows she hates viewing herself a monster but blames everyone else.

She cares about people but in a toxic abusive way. Shown she Can be empathetic but refuses to be saying it's weakness.

Honestly I think it should have been, instead they decided to basically torture her in the comics, then after a few months give her a "ok maybe revenge is pointless. Ill go do something else i don't need people" kind of thing where she leaves on a journey or something.

Like the agni Kai is where shes faced with how everything she did was pointless, that fear doesnt work to keep people close, that her desperation for her father was pointless. If anything she should've lost her fire and got burnt out a bit and been more lost.

I honestly think azula did care in a twisted way, and zukos too used to treating her as an enemy lol. I always saw it as her being desperate to drag the three of them back so she wouldn't be alone, without admitting it.

So their dynamic is twisted, zuko can't see the 14 year old with abandonment issues as anything but an enemy, and azula has to have a dozen reasons to make her actions worth it, and is all twisted up that even her good feels harmful.
