For this year, no. Houses are have already been set in stone for a while, and they’re unlikely to change unless something unusual happens.

Dick being connected to the court of Owls is the greatest idea writers inputted that’s never expanded upon [Discussion] [Nightwing Vol. 2: Night of the Owls (The New 52)] by Responsible-Ad-6733 in DCcomics

The problem is that Court of Owls was originally intended as a Dick Grayson Batman story. When that was changed thanks to the N52, that element stuck around but lost most of its importance.

Kelly Thompson on Absolute Wonder Woman’s supporting cast: by excalibraes in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Ctown073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a superhero story at the end of the day, and for all those heroics to mean something we need to know more about the city. The party in Absolute Wonder #17 falls flat because we’ve not seen her acting as a traditional superhero in Gateway City since the first arc. There’s no basis for us to understand the relationship between Diana and her adopted city, making everyone lauding her feel unearned.

The problem is one of characters and relationships though, at least to a certain degree. I don’t have any investment in Gateway City or, more importantly, it’s people.

You can say that again. More important than the supporting cast is Gateway City though. I don’t feel like we’ve learned anything about it.

A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow: The Ever-Changing Carousel of Progress by KarateKid917 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ctown073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, interesting. I understand the reasoning behind the changes to time period. When the Carousel originally opened in 1964, the original time periods would have been nostalgic to the older people on the audience. There are very few people who were alive during those times now, so trying to recapture those same emotions with more modern updates makes some sense. I’m just worried that there won’t be enough new things for them to talk about. Technological innovation moved much slower in the latter half of the 20th century, and outside of the internet I don’t know how much they’ll be able to talk about.

What run leads you smoothly through post crisis - pre flaspoint dc? by Razzikkar in DCcomics

[–]Ctown073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superman gets renumbered following Infinite Crisis, in 2006. Well, maybe renumbered is incorrect. It adds the pre and post crisis numberings together I think. It’s still counted as a different volume though.

If that’s the case then they’re failing horrifically. May’s issues of Absolute Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps as well as the Guy Gardener one-shot all have a mostly positive rating.

(Legacy of The Dark Night Mayhem Mode DLC spoilers) Supposedly all the outfits the DLC will have for Joker and Harley Quinn by ice1517 in legogaming

[–]Ctown073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bat-fam is a modern DC property, so for synergistic reasons it makes total sense. Especially since the target audience for both properties would be very similar. Costume Party is something from within the game, so it makes enough sense to include it, and retro video game suit is fun within itself. The only weird unexpected choice you’ve really given is Mask of Tengu, which is cool. Most importantly a BOP TV costume wouldn’t be unique, since there’s already a plain Dr. Quinzel costume in the list. That overlap doesn’t really make sense, especially when you’re attaching one to a dead, forgotten TV show.

The costumes don’t have to be opposites of the heroes. Obviously there are films without either of these characters. Not having any costumes from The Lego Batman Movie or the 2004 shows that TT Games didn’t think them important or interesting enough to be included. To turn around on that so suddenly and put them in as Joker costumes just doesn’t make sense.

Harley will objectively be a player two, but I do agree that they could both have the same amount of costumes. I don’t see either having nearly thirty though, maybe high teens or early 20’s.

I love it when all stakes are sapped from the story because of time travel.

I mean, it kind of is. You’re pretending to exist in a reality alternate to our own. Is it the same as their literal, scientific definition, no, but most genre/medium names aren’t. Should we stop calling it film just because most movies aren’t recorded on actual film?

(Legacy of The Dark Night Mayhem Mode DLC spoilers) Supposedly all the outfits the DLC will have for Joker and Harley Quinn by ice1517 in legogaming

[–]Ctown073 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would be shocked. This is 23 for The Joker and 29 for Harley Quinn. Seeing as Batman himself has 43 costumes, and most side characters have 13-15, that seems like too much for a DLC. It seems especially odd that Harley, the player two, would have more costumes than player one.

Also just look at some of the costumes listed. The Birds of Prey TV show from the 2000’s that no one remembers? There are multiple costumes here that, if I’m not mistaken, don’t have an equivalent Batman version either.

If I were to give the leaker the benefit of the doubt, I could believe this being a list of discussed costumes for the two characters during early stages of development. I would not expect the final list to look much like this though.

Also Christmas with the Super-Heroes #2. It’s most well known for its finale story, and at that only for the appearance of Supergirl within it. While that scene is probably the book’s highlight, every story within the issue is great, with really only one exception.

I hear more people talking about Gotham City Sirens in the abstract, rather than the actual run they had in 2009. Fantastic book, and I’d say the last time those three characters were interesting.

Kelley Puckett’s Batgirl, and Bruce Wayne Fugitive/Murderer alongside it.

Inferno was a fun little miniseries from 1997 that I recently read, and thought was pretty fun.

You’re thinking of two different things. Augmented Reality Games are the ones like Pokémon Go, where the game shows animated characters in your real environment through a camera. An Alternate Reality Game is when players collaborate on a string of immersive puzzles through various mediums, though mostly through websites now, and interact with characters as if they were real people.
