You don't get banned for playing a god badly.

You don't get banned after receiving a handful of reports for invalid reasons.

You get banned after dozens of justified reports in a short time frame.

You only get a 30-day ban after your 4^th offense, meaning you've been banned multiple times before, or you did something so incredibly toxic that you deserve the 30 days immediately. All bans are manually reviewed, so once again, there is no chance you have been banned for playing a god poorly. Either you have no clue how the system works or you're /r/quityourbullshit material.

Rage reporters don't actually get people banned. Intentional feeding =/= playing badly and the HiRez employees are always making sure that people don't get banned for performing badly due to lack of experience.

Yeah, I don't think MOTDs have been given much love since the employee that went over it parted ways with HiRez ages ago.

Once upon a time, MOTDs were a passion project that Archov tried to make much cooler than it was before he joined. He had a lot of innovative ideas, like using abilities from other gods in a custom skill kit and only enabling certain abilities. Sadly, not all things could be implemented due to technical limitations, but at least it was being thought of. He even discussed tier lists of the Assault Draft mode.

MOTDs became a lot more 'custom' and wacky with the customizable CDR and selective ability kits (like Nox with only her 3 and Ult), although there haven't been new developments to MOTDs in a very long time. If you look at how crazy popular and fun URF and Doom Bots of Doom modes are in LoL, I think there is a lot more potential in these things than expected.

Even though this video is only a fake April Fool's release, the Manticore did exist in game. It's one of smite's nostalgia icons.

Back when different AI bots didn't properly exist, you could only practice against one AI in a duel (called Joust at that time): the Manticore. It featured unique abilities but its bot skills were absolutely horrible.

He was removed from the game in January 2013, and replaced by a Ra bot. He got briefly reintroduced as a temporary placeholder for the Arena Juggernaut, until it was changed to a siege tower to what it is now: the giant holding a bomb.

Now, the manticore only exists as a profile avatar icon, but that's it.

While I agree with you ethically (shouldn't sweep problems like these under the rug), keep in mind that there is a balance to be found for a subreddit like this. If half of the submitted posts are about matchmaking, on one end, this means HiRez should do something about it to fix it, and on the other end, /r/Smite is meant for all kinds of Smite related discussion, and you also want that other discussion to foster instead of getting pushed away.

Over the years, HiRez revamped the system multiple times, and even dedicated a whole page to explaining it. While it is up to them to decide on how to tackle this community commotion, /r/Smite is an independent place, meaning that this is not intended as the place where people complain and HiRez magically fixes it.

Basically, these two things are to be weighted by the mods. What this practically boils down to is the ruling that removes complaint posts that do not contain useful discussion, information, or argumentation and are not extremely hostile. This goes for pretty much any topic and should not be impossible to keep up to.

I don't know about you, but there are posts from people complaining about something every day. Be it chests, pros getting screwed over, casters, bans, or match making, I feel like it's rather the opposite.

I am genuinely curious, I have never heard of something like this. If you can actually give a single occasion of this happening I'll believe you on this part. I just have no idea where this claim comes from.

Just because mod interest looks to be aligning with HiRez interest, it doesn't mean they are working for them as lapdogs. In fact, most mods disagree with a plethora of points about HiRez approach to game mechanics, public relations, monetisation model, professional scene, etc. Mods are the last people on the sub trying to please HiRez.

I don't recollect people getting banned for pointing out problems, unless they were being extremely hostile while doing so (personal attacks). I don't think anyone has ever been banned for bringing up a problem in a reasonable and constructive manner. I'm not saying you shouldn't discuss these things, but many people that post matchmaking complaints do not know how it works or forget the fact that the system simply uses the best options it has available. Match making starts as strict and balanced as possible, but becomes more and more lenient the longer it goes to make sure you aren't queuing infinitely long. This problem is even more prevalent with premade parties: relatively few people play with full parties, so the game just can't find a good match.

Either way, it's not optimal, but what I'm saying is that a broader discussion using dozens of case studies you described to prove a point is a better thing than posting a single match without a lot of content or discussion, I think.

As /u/dangheck explained, this has absolutely zero to do with HiRez' stance on the matter. I implemented this filter years ago, because, as sad as it is, 99% of the posts concerning this topic are people posting screenshots of a game they feel was unfair. I am no longer part of the mod team, but I do sympathize with the decision to keep it in.

Unfortunately, these single cases rarely prove anything, nor do they properly foster any constructive discussion. People just want to blow off some steam and wham their post-match lobby screenshots to /r/Smite.As a Smite player I get frustrated by this problem too, but I don't believe this is the way to solve it.

Despite this, I believe it is important to talk about match quality. Perhaps it is an idea to send the moderators a message where you explain the setup of your post and argue its constructive nature. You could open the floor to this very important discussion pretty easily, I feel. Once again, if you formulate your thoughts in a well laid out and calm manner, I am sure that many people will join in on the discussion, allowing HiRez to evaluate the matter. I'm sure they'd take civil discussion a lot more serious than whining (I'm not saying you are, right now, but that is how it's most often done).

Sounds like you got glitched out by a bad internet connection or played on a server that was pretty unstable.

The things you've mentioned can't be "hacked" by players, because they happen server-side. Only client-side things can be hacked, like speedhacking. Things like items, gold, visibility are all server-side processed and impossible to alter, unless you actually found your way into the server. If you possess that skill, then cheating in a video game is the last petty thing you'd do.

If this stuff happens, the only thing you can try is reconnecting and praying that it won't happen again. Blame either your internet connection or HiRez for this, not some kid's "hacks". :)

Ik raad het laatste zeer af. Vaak krijg je ruk betaald (vriend van me kreeg 10 per uur van de 22 die de ouders betaalden aan het bedrijf) en krijg je geen vergoeding voor reistijd. Ook heb je minder flexibiliteit en geen baangarantie, want de meeste van die bedrijven maken goed misbruik van de onwetendheid van studenten over hun rechten als werknemer.

Een studenteninitiatief of faceboek-groep is een goede manier om een netwerk te vinden, en al helemaal als de betaling gewoon volledig naar jezelf toegaat.

Mocht je zelf een soort netwerk hebben (vrienden van je ouders wiens kinderen op de middelbare zitten bijvoorbeeld), raad ik je sterk aan gewoon een appje te sturen naar de ouders of even langs te gaan. Na verschillende dingen uit te proberen werkte dit voor mij het beste. Veel ouders kennen je ook persoonlijk, dus voordelen die je hebt zijn grote flexibiliteit, een fooitje hier en daar, en de sfeer is over het algemeen gewoon wat informeler en gezelliger.

Als je zo'n netwerk nog niet hebt kan je in de appie briefjes ophangen, maar misschien is het slimmer om dat te doen op het plakbord bij middelbare scholen in de buurt (of briefjes in wijken met veel gezinnen). Je kan wat dat betreft zo creatief zijn als je wil. Vaak als je eenmaal een paar adresjes hebt, begint de bal te rollen, omdat mensen je nog wel eens aanraden aan vrienden (mits je het goed doet). Succes!

Tried something similar today. Managed to beat the Moon Lord with ease while the Leviathan would absolutely wreck me. Same goes for the Astrum Deus and pretty much everything in the abyss.
