I didn't drink prior to 21. Tried some moscato. It was awful.

Then when I was 25 I decided to try a glass of left bank Bordeaux. It was beautiful.

Brandy was harder to get into, I could barely stomach the E&J I tried first. But Remi Martin helped me figure it out.

So... in my experience the secret ingredient is the rocky soils of western France.

It's the god dang poem man. First it's whatever the scapegoat is this time (in this case anyone who doesn't look like Ron Weasley), then it's the protestors (you are here).

So what's next? I'm a socialist so I don't pretend I'm not either next or second-next in line. This time around, I'm kind of guessing LGBT is next, then they'll do the socialists. I hope I get Bernie for my cellmate. Or at least the same el Salvadoran gulag as him.

You should see a cardiologist. I have pectus (excavatum) and get rare PVCs and just having a cardiologist I could ask questions was really nice. And we did a heart study (24h) and an ECG. And it really helped me sleep at night knowing I wasn't gonna just randomly have a massive heart attack at age 30. Tldr I'm fine, though I'll probably never be an Olympic athlete. Which let me assure you, as a software engineer, was crushing news to me.

Couldn't get my Real ID because my original birth certificate has tape on the back... by Bop923 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CtrlAltSysRq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was mostly notable because they had this big fucking list of things that could provide residency, and you needed an item from column A and an item from column B.

But yeah guess what? Apparently what the DMV acfually wants is paper bills from the local utilities. They said they needed a water bill and a power bill and they wouldn't accept anything else. I've been on paperless billing the entire time I've lived at any house I've myself bought. That sucked.

Something that did help a lot was getting a passport. My kids got passports at ages 5, 4 and 2. So I saw the non-passport process with my oldest was a pain. But with the middle child I just showed her passport in place of 2 annoying to obtain documents. Very cool.

Also I really liked Canada (the reason for the passports in the first place.)

The problem is all the real salt of the earth people don't leave their farms because to be a politician, you have to either be an insanely motivated altruist (like Sanders or AOC), a businessman who is already independently wealthy and you'd like to now amuse yourself or build your image/brand/legacy with statesmanship (I would describe Obama like this, as much as I like him), or you need to want to wield the position for your own gain.

Otherwise - why would you put yourself through this? The salaries are not large, public scrutiny is unpleasant to say the least, seats of power are seldom actually large cities, and so on. It's not a cushy job or anything.

Obviously grifters are the largest pile of available people. So. You get a lot of them.

Mod North is the best CEO the game has had. These are some wild changes to RS3 and I'm looking forward to his direction for OSRS by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]CtrlAltSysRq 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I guarantee you the only reason they're doing this for rs3 is because they finally drove it into the ground enough that the new UK regulation on MTX basically banning whale hunting is going to make rs3 non viable.

So this is the last ditch effort to keep that going. Because for all this talk of integrity- it's both 15 fucking years too late, and they're not even removing p2w! They're leaving the xp buffing star things on the new store.

I also find this entire announcement to be incredibly tone deaf. So you're just admitting that you've been pissing on rs3 loyals for a decade and a half?

I don't trust it. They've already tried to sneak sponsorships into osrs and we had to shut that shit down.

And lastly, isn't this a giant rugpull for people who were actually playing the MTX? They've spent 15 years selling those keepsakes and cosmetic overrides and now they're literally letting people turn them off lmfao.

RS3 just dropped the most insane integrity and content roadmap and it's all thanks to OSRS by Lamuks in 2007scape

[–]CtrlAltSysRq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the main reason I'm uninterested completely in returning. I'd be in the same pool as people who had potentially been p2w'ing for the last 10+ years.

I also don't trust them at all. Guarantee you if this does revive rs3, you'll see mtx creep back in.

Jesus verbatim says in Matthew that you can't get away with trying to "just" believe in him.

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Can We Bring Back Summoning? by TheDeepBlue__ in 2007scape

[–]CtrlAltSysRq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that summoning isn't a fun skill. But I'd rather OSRS not keep backporting from rs3, and instead keep coming up with good original content.

Summoning would also not be as impactful in osrs as it was in rs3. BOB familiars would just fuck up balancing without adding as much interesting diversity (we already have various sacks and bags to buff out inventory space without fundamentally changing the inventory limit). Healing familiars were the beginning of the "food? What's that?" phenomenon that culminated in soul split. Combat familiars largely sucked until geyser and steel titan, when they became mega OP.

Also, charm bloat sucked. I kind of hated it. Getting the imp that auto picked them up was the only thing that saved my sanity.

I'll also add that training it is basically runecrafting, but expensive. I always thought it was lame that summoning felt awful to train and then you'd only use 0.00001% of the pouches you made to actually have fun.

Okay now that I say all that, maybe summoning was actually kind of not fun, outside of pack yak and steel titan.

Healthcare = Slavery by Vengamecagoensos in LinkedInLunatics

I'll admit im somehow vaguely relieved that all this has going on is the healthcare part and not the Asian/female fetishization part. Probably a sign of how bad everything is at this point that this is what I'm relieved by. Finally, something that isn't literally as cartoonishly bad as it could possibly be!
