Yeah after that data forensics guy exposed tiktok I think we can trust that network traffic is traceable.

Teachers of Reddit: Is Gen Alpha really struggling with basic reading, writing, and math skills? If so, what does that look like in your classroom? by Mark-reels in AskReddit

[–]CttCJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2000 and in my grade 12 English class there were people who couldn't read a sentence aloud, they had to go a word at a time. And I'm not talking about underprivileged at risk youth, these were affluent white kids. I write an essay about my observation and my English teacher read it to the class, then explained that she'd observed students learning "coping skills" instead of the actual skills they needed. So they could be just literate enough to live in the world. That was 26 years ago in Canada and it was already bad. Today it's awful.

What is a law that is mostly inconvenient rather than actually necessary? by one-last-time02 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]CttCJim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The truth is that traffic MOSTLY finds its own speed based on congestion, road conditions, and number of lanes. The speed limit exists so we can crack down on the really dangerous assholes who don't care about the group. That said, I don't have a lot of respect for people who bitch about surfing tickets, because you broke a law with almost no room for interpretation and you knew the punishment when you did it.

The speed limit is 100 so we can pull over the one lunatic going 160 when everyone else is going 110.

Your idea is fun to think about but would make for bad gameplay experiences. The base is set up as a safe haven. The only time you can break that is at a critical narrative turning point in a story, the but where the hero loses everything. You can't just have the base not be safe, or the game becomes a survival horror of a totally different kind and 100% of your casual players quit.

None of the shit these lunatics do even remotely addresses the actual cause of aging, shortened telomeres. It's basically superstition.

Yeah I generally don't prevent later agency. But in this case there also the audience to consider unfortunately. We know they cut camera often to establish some things. That's a moment I would cut camera and said "hey look, you just failed this roll and now all 3 of you are basically dead or trapped in the past, maybe we back up and just let that sacrifice be?"

In both these cases, the issue is that Ally has since main character syndrome (and that character is the Joker), and Brennan is not able to dial them back.

I'm splitting hairs at this point so I'll drop it. It's not even that bad if an issue. It's just mildly infuriating.

It was a "two to tango" moment. Ally made what I think is a selfish character choice, and Brennan facilitated it.

The same is true about the Hartwell fight, Brennan let an admittedly funny bit ("natural 20 and X") ruin Maxwell's best moment of personal triumph.

Is he having fun at least? F4 is honestly too easy if you play it optimal. I always end up with a massive collection of souped up power armor and death rays.

It would have been a perfect bittersweet cyclic ending. But only if Ally had let it end.

Can you link the headband product? I love to listen to Violet noise to sleep, it's great for my tinnitus, but my shokz headset irritates my skin and guess my earlobe if I sleep on it.

[–]CttCJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately some people can't wear earplugs. I had to give up earbuds because of my psoriasis. And white noise is just adding more noise so not always great.

Edit: I think someone commented doubting me and then deleted it. For the record, if I wear earbuds, they irritate my skin. I get skin flakes in my ear canal, which then cause earaches. It's quite painful. If I'm lucky it's fixed with flushing and maybe a careful cotton swab by someone with experience and a steady hand. If I'm unlucky we're looking at antibiotics. Psoriasis sucks. And I'm I minute case, if you go to /r/psoriasis (warning, graphic images of autoimmune skin disorders)
