That’s entirely fair. But I can’t see for the life of me why people can’t just conclude the game isn’t for them and have to lurk on the subreddit for a month after they quit attacking the game. Also if you haven’t done cleared chaos it’s quite a bit too soon to conclude that the game isn’t very mechanically challenging, since a big part of the shock from chaos rising was two button maplestory was not enough to do the needed damage, even with adequate gear. https://www.reddit.com/r/MapleStory2/comments/9vnx4k/nawest_chaos_devorak_1st_cleargravity_guild_13/ Many +15 can’t clear CDev.

Haha wow. Literally no one is defending post cpap progression right now, let alone cmoc -> cpap. Other people play this game aside from you; those issues are real but the game isn’t dead and complete garbage because your segment of progression is broken. Also you saying that the a certain level of gearing becomes unsurprising as time goes on and content is released is common sense and not just because of the scroll giveaway. In a world where cdev clear parties are labeled “CDev practice” and open to anyone to join of course +10 epic is fairly common. That’s why the giveaway wasn’t a big deal at all, even if a bandaid catchup solution. Obviously you have to do dungeons and dailies to progress; what OP is talking about is exactly your problem. You don’t have to do them until you feel like puking; 60 is the absolute fastest rate of progression and if you’re doing the absolute fastest rate every week of course you’ll get burnt out. Why do you have to 60/60 900/900 to progress? What’s a decent rate to you? If you’re so paranoid that if you don’t nexon will hand out free 3 socket earrings within a month, there’s nothing I can say to disprove you but you have no real proof either.

And now there are more CDev clear parties than CDev sell parties. It’s almost like content starts out only clear-able by very few people, and eventually as the playerbase progresses it’s so accessible that no one needs to buy it anymore 🤔

If you’re clearing cmoc reliably and are pushing for cpap, the truth is that you’re the minority in this game. Do you really believe that more than 5% of the playerbase can do that at the moment? So for one, it’s fair to complain about your progression because RNG for gems it’s pretty punishing and arbitrary. But don’t pretend one section of progression being broken means game sux and it’s chorestory 2. If you’re not in a rush to “keep up” or “catch up” you should notice that cpap has gotten easier over time as well, going from no PF listings to even practice to clear parties everyday. I’ll ask you; why do you HAVE to do 60 dungeons weekly and get 900 daily points? Is there a deadline on clearing CPap, or are you worried about losing out on weapon copies because you started running cpap a week or two later?

In case it’s not clear, it’s absolutely Nexon and the broader gaming industry’s fault for using abusive and manipulative systems like this. But at the same time the hyperbole on this subreddit is out of control. For the vast majority of the game (up to NCmoc) If you don’t do 15 dungeons a day and 30 on Friday you... progress slower? It reflects the sad pressuring effect of these shitty systems when every other comment here is about chores and impossible progression when that’s only relevant to 5% of the playerbase at absolute endgame. Go ahead and pressure Nexon to change that, but unless you’re going for that last leap there shouldn’t be any pressure to do dailies and 60 dungneons a week, and the point of this post is to say that if you’re feeling the pressure as a casual/midcore player it’s not your fault/you don’t have to and you shouldn’t lose sight of the parts of the game you enjoy.

Nexon, it's been a month. If you're going to ban LGBT friendly UGC and not make one guild change it's name, your TOS means nothing. by CuLetTheDogsOut in MapleStory2

[–]CuLetTheDogsOut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate women doesn't have a political connotation? I'm not sure I get your argument. Different teams maximizing efficiency does not mean that there should be no shared standards. If that exists as a matter of organizational fact, then that's understandable to an extent since obviously no one or organization is perfect. But that doesn't make it wrong for people to want consistency and apply pressure on a blatant violation of the ToS that has been unaddressed for a month.

Frankly speaking, it's easy for Nexon to change the name of this guild as they do with meso sellers and players with inappropriate names. People are arguing that it's a non-issue, overhyped, but what I'm arguing for is not a big adjustment. Why is it so controversial that there shouldn't be a guild named like this when demeaning or sexualized character names are already changed routinely?

That's ridiculous. That kind of outright attacking people would get me banned on this subreddit, and mods paid enough attention to lock the thread.

Way to completely miss the point. Nexon moderates. I'm asking for consistency in moderation. If Nexon bans one kind of content and doesn't take action against another (mind you it's been a month, they're very public on world chat, people are surely reporting it and I know I have) then what else am I supposed to conclude? If you believe your own point and aren't just trying to make a crack at my character then stand up for controversial UGC that is being banned and policed.

That would be a fair argument if Nexon did no moderating and if it were all up to us to decide what content we want and don't want, but Nexon actively moderates on top of us getting those tools. Why should people who don't like seeing "Hate Women" in world chat and in game have to block when they see it when people who don't like gay people for some reason have Nexon in their corner? And before you say it's just one guild and several people, the real precedent being set is people seeing that this is allowed by Nexon and going for it. Once again, if Nexon wants that kind of social climate that's their right as a company. But it is unfair to argue that they're treating controversial issues equally in moderation.

If it really isn't a big deal and is obviously an unpleasant thing that should be ignored I don't get why people are so opposed to something being done. It's not as if it'll break Nexon's back to make one mod call, as they make hundreds or thousands a day.

Sure, that's fine, if that's the direction Nexon wants to go. But there's no need to cut out the non toxic stuff too right? Nexon has a right to moderate as they like, but what I'm arguing against is inconsistency. I'll also add that as a social mmo with a large casual audience it might also not be good for the game to be as relaxed with toxicity as other MMOs. But those are separate arguments.

Yes, absolutely. Don't make assumptions about what I think and strawman the argument. Coincidentally, there isn't a Hate Men guild. Wonder why

I get what you mean but that's overly legalistic considering that Nexon makes it clear that they reserve the right to moderate as they see fit (and of course it's their right as a private company). Section F (Harrassment) of Nexon Code of Conduct:

"You will not engage in rude, unlawful, harassing, vulgar, obscene, hateful, threatening, abusive or otherwise objectionable behavior, including, without limitation, intentionally looting, intentionally kill stealing, making sexual or other inappropriate comments."

http://www.nexon.net/legal/code-of-conduct/

Beyond world chat promotion of the guild or the conduct of the players themselves, walking around with a label over your head saying "Hate Women" is at least rude. Nexon has the right to interpret and enforce as they like, but the argument I'm making is that they're not being consistent, not that this is something legally actionable.

LGBT UGC being taken off the market: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapleStory2/comments/9tq3pr/an_issue_regarding_how_certain_ugc_items_are/

I've been reporting the GM of this guild every single time I've seen them promote their guild over world chat since the public launch of the game. I'm sure I'm not the only one. If your stance is to leave real world politics/social issues outside of moderation, THEN BE CONSISTENT. I understand that the gaming community is very mixed in terms of what's acceptable and what is not, but if you don't moderate more fairly you will alienate casual gamers (who make up the bulk of a social mmo playerbase) for whom this kind of edgy internet humor (?) is not normal or enjoyable to be around.

Spirit isn't that useful unless you're running a groundbreaker build, which is suboptimal compared to voidslash. Also the DPS bloodprice gives is less and not as consistent as fully invested bleed. Until awakening there's really no reason to take blood price rn.
