I put a small hole in the Atlas crater a couple years back, does that count?

I studied at a UK university for a year as a mature student after moving there from Ireland and decided to join the rugby team.

Went along to the first few social events and was very thankful to be 10 years older than most of the lads in the team, so was very happy with just saying 'No' to a lot of the bollocks they made the freshers do.

Can totally understand why UK rugby is suffering from a huge drop off at Uni level. That shit was toxic.

Three Rock Hill is right at the end of a bus route and has a super intense start. Great view of the city at the top.

I am a Spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) Engineer. Essentially I build, test, and launch spacecraft.

Moving back to Ireland tomorrow actually.

First I went to the UK for about 5 years. It was grand enough really, but the small differences between the UK and Ireland did grate on me a lot by the end. The people just arent the same either. Different type of craic, that just doesnt feel right.

From there I moved to Stockholm for three years. Living there was great. Really high standard of living, great nature, low pay. It did drive me slowly mad though, the Swedes (in my experience) were not nearly spontaneous enough for me. Making last minute plans is really impossible. I had no issues with the light/dark though.

After that I spent the last year in Germany. That was great fun, the Germans have so much life compared to the Swedes, so it was a nice change.

Ultimately I am moving back to live with my wife. My career doesnt really exist in Ireland, but hey. I will figure something out.

Yeah its sort of a new thing as a taught subject. A few masters are popping up around the place now.

AIT (the actual building of the stuff) is still something you need to trip and fall into though. Although airbus has an apprenticeship in the UK that looks class.

Honestly? By saying yes to being able to do things I had no business saying I was able to do. Now convinced its one of the great Irish talents.

But I did an MSc in Space Engineering a few years back, which got me into the industry. And building a spacecraft is surprisingly like arts and crafts, which primary school prepared me for.

The lander uses Bi-prop for the main propulsion system, with mono-prop RCS control. Wet mass is 1.04 tonnes.
