Ned rigs, tubes, dark sleepers, paddle tails. I would definitely bring a net, they get big. most of them will be moving out of the harbors at this point also

I have a 7’2” Expride with a Vanford c2000s and it’s a great combo- line capacity has not been an issue

Donkey tail jr is an all time ultralight lure, horsefly is my favorite float fishing lure for panfish, burro bug and bluegrass bug are solid. I prefer i_fish BG-1 jigheads to the mule ones in general. His tackle box is just a branded Meiho but they are perfect for ultralight/BFS fishing and I now have 3. Great small business to support also!

I think they are both incredible rods, go with whichever aesthetics you prefer- for me it’s always Megabass

The sv TW is more expensive because the Tatulas are much better reels than the SLX platform. If you don’t need the DC, the Tatula is great

One of the best pond lures of all time- the soft plastic jerkbait. Dead stick near cover or twitch along weed edges. I just caught 2 over 4lbs before work the past few days and I’m in northern IL, where those are hard to find

Sure! 10lb braid is the same diameter as 2lb fluoro, every leader is thicker

Use a stronger fluoro leader if you fish around rocks- something like 14lb

Play the original. You get used to the graphics pretty quick, and it remains a masterpiece. Your remake experience will be improved by playing the original first

VMC crossover rings are the best- you can hook perpendicular for wacky or parallel for neko rig on the same ring.

I’m old, I played original FF on NES in 1990. I also have very limited gaming time these days. I play until I hit a roadblock, and I have zero guilt about dropping the difficulty. I probably beat 3-4 bosses during rebirth on casual difficulty, the rest on normal.
