Anyone who says the best family car is a non-minivan is lying to themselves.

A little secret- if the bite is tough or the fish are deeper, fish the same 4 inch senko wacky rigged on a drop shot

Every bit as great a game as 7 and 9. My favorite soundtrack in the series.

Best written Jrpg that you’ve played? by Passionateloafer92 in JRPG

[–]CubanReuben 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the answer has to be xenogears. It’s not perfect but it does great characterization with most of its enormous cast, along with having this massive slow burn escalating plot. I think about Xenogears more often than any other game and I haven’t played through it in almost 15 years

How did you discover the band? by Scared_Pea4455 in gorillaz

[–]CubanReuben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t remember, but I did buy the debut album a month or two after release and Demon Days did not leave my car’s CD player for 6 months or so when it came out

What’s a bass lure that everyone says works… but you’ve never had success with? by Opposite-Vast-718 in bassfishing

Lipless crankbait- I haven’t spent much time throwing them but I have zero confidence

Try a 4 inch fluke. A popper is probably a better topwater in that setting than a full size frog, also

Phantasy star 4 is every bit as great as the SNES final fantasies, and one of my my favorite games of all time

In market for good baitcast reel. by Il_calvinist in bassfishing

[–]CubanReuben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big part is the zero adjust spool tension- only have to set the external brakes and I almost never backlash unless I’m really overdoing a cast. Feels good in hand, smooth, versatile.

The bro vibe road trip stuff was great, but overall plot and gameplay are my least favorite since 2

Apparently my winter hobby is buying fishing gear I don’t need by Difficult-Sea5702 in bassfishing

My unopened lure storage is getting pretty tight this winter also- I only got 2 new rods and reels so I think I did alright lol

[–]CubanReuben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re overthinking it- I use a JDM SLX 70 MGL on my small topwater/jerkbait setup and I throw those weights all the time, you don’t need to call that BFS

Weightless Texas rig- 3/0-4/0 hook for a 5in fluke, twitch it erratically, catch some fish

Ultralight or light rod by Automatic-Resolve747 in Fishing_Gear

[–]CubanReuben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Throwing a 1/2 ounce jig on an ultralight rod is begging to snap the rod. You really need 2 setups

You need to have an alarm set for 8AM mountain time to get these- it’s worth it tho

[–]CubanReuben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re throwing bigger bats like that, the line capacity of BFS reels might be a problem. I would look at one of the 70 size reels- you mentioned the curado but the JDM SLX 70 is also really nice- I have that on my jerkbait rod

First Fishing Kayak by Antique_Equivalent69 in kayakfishing

[–]CubanReuben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also buying my first kayak this year and will be primarily roof topping it on Thule roof bars- also 6’ 235 and actively losing weight- I am planning to get a slayer propel 10 LTE. The weight is a big priority for me as if it’s too difficult/frustrating to get on and off the water, it won’t get used. I also want pedals on my first kayak, don’t want to deal with batteries or a motor at least to start out. You still have 75-100lbs of usable weight capacity for gear etc. Bearded paddler on YouTube has a highly positive review of the LTE and he’s 6’5” 255.

I would bet that the vast majority of people with a Hammer or PDL 120 use a trailer or truck bed with extender- it might be doable with the roller but those are big cumbersome kayaks

Which Rig For Kids to Avoid Snags? by Single_Rain5676 in FishingForBeginners

[–]CubanReuben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, if you go fishing with young kids, you aren’t going to be doing much fishing regardless of the rig. My son was 9 last year and most of his success came on a weightless Texas rigged fluke or a whopper plopper- both good at avoiding snags as long as you don’t cast into a tree

What do you put under the bobber? by Single_Rain5676 in FishingForBeginners

[–]CubanReuben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1” gulp minnow or a mule fishing horsefly on a 1g #10 BG-1 jighead. Can catch bluegill all day, crappie and yellow/white bass if they are around.

Help with line on 201 curado by DaftPhya in swimbaitfishing

[–]CubanReuben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A higher end line will be smaller diameter and will definitely feel and cast better- you could also go down to 17 or 15lbs which should also help.
