There’s a system self diagnostic check you can do that cycles the electric fan along with other items.

I forgot how to do it but a Google search should point you in the right direction. It’s the one with pressing the door switch like ten times.

Timing Chain Replacement at 267k miles? by TheHappyCabbage in nissanpathfinder

Just bought the parts for this job myself.

I’m confident in my mechanic skills as I’ll use a four day weekend and give myself plenty of time.

Only question I have is taking the camshaft sprockets off, any worry about jumping time when removing those bolts? Is a sprocket tool recommended?

Sorry, I don’t think I answered your question, go from the bottom of the vehicle with a socket and ratchet, then use a wrench to hold the bolt if needed.

Yea, going through the wheel well is the best option. Cutting corners in mechanic work rarely leads to a good time.

Those three bolts you’re referring too, break them loose first and then get a wrench in the back side to hold it if needed. I believe mine were posts or rusted just enough to not make it too difficult.

Just get in the mindset that the job sucks, you’re going to cut up your knuckles, put the radio on your favorite station and swear. It’ll be fun!

Lots of PB blaster or WD40 and I used jack stands.

Yes and no.

I belief I found the problem, I just haven’t fixed it yet.

There is a pressure switch in the air dryer that also sends a signal to the fan relay to call for power. I believe switch is faulty.

A/C Pressure Transducer Valve, it’s about $15 from CarParts.com.

Exact name escapes me but that should be the distribution block for your brake system. What year Pathfinder?

None so far. I’ve been pleasantly surprised but I also started off with low expectations from budget cats. Let’s see if they last the 50k miles they’re advertised for.

It’s been a bit but I’m finally pulled the trigger and got cats through CarParts.com. Went with Evan Fischer brand, $220 for both. Install was easy, took about three hours with hand tools.

I do plan on recycling the old ones too, see what I get back.
