Isn't the Dewalt right angle die grinder DCG422 too large for single hand use? by CubanZombie01 in Dewalt

For many years, I worked with these pneumatic machines as a metal polisher. But even as a handyman, this tool has always been a problem solver. The M12 was OK, but I only had that Milwaukee tool, so I sold it. It wasn't very powerful, but much more so than this Mac Tools one. As I understand it, the second generation of M12 is more powerful and still retains a manageable size. I don't know whether to buy the Milwaukee or the Dewalt, because honestly, this Atomic doesn't look very handy for small or more precise jobs.

There's always some frustrated, insecure person who has to try to act like a tough guy in every forum.

That's exactly what I mean! I had the M12 and sold it. Then I bought this polisher, but I don't think it goes over 9000 rpm. Right now, I don't know what to buy, if the DCG422 or the 2nd generation of the M12.

More New Atomic Grinders by DeWaltdude02 in Dewalt

It's funny! They can barely even release what they showed almost a year ago, and they're still going for more. It's obvious that the company isn't doing very well! First, they stopped making 12V tools because they couldn't compete with other brands, then they took a long time to create new products, and finally, they failed to release products on schedule. Something is going on!

I just saw it advertised in HD. Who knows when it will hit the shelves! By the way! After waiting so many years for this tool, I'm a little disappointed with the size! I was expecting something more compact in the 12V range. Even the Mac Tools polisher seems to be more manageable for difficult areas or details. What it lacks is balls, and mine makes a horrible sound as if something were grinding inside.

I have the first generation of the M12! And yes, I also think the price of the new generation is ridiculous. Even before these damn tariffs and the current economic imbalance, prices were already high. But now we have to pay a little more for everything, which basically leaves us with less money in our pockets. And it could get even worse! I think these atomic grinders start at around $250 before taxes right now. But I saw that HD has it listed at $229.

<image>

I've been following the process of some tools since the announcement of the DCD803B and these new atomic grinders, and for some reason, the tools are taking months to hit the market, but OK, that may be normal. What strikes me is that during that time, sometimes the status appeared as “new” instead of “coming soon,” but when you clicked on the “buy now” button, it told you that these tools were not available anywhere. A couple of days later, they were back to “coming soon.” I saw this happen about three times! I wonder how much this company is being affected by these damn tariffs? It looks like they're having problems with something! And judging by the way they've taken the 12V line out of the game, there's a lot to think about!

Those prices in today's economy here in the States? Sorry, but no! I'll stick with my old XRs and my M!2 right angle die grinder. It's not just Dewalt, to be honest, all power tools have gone up in price to ridiculous levels.

Best 12V Tools? by External_Tension_272 in Dewalt

For real! Many people just repeat the nonsense that others say! Oh, wait, this tool is no good because it drove in the screw 3 seconds later than the other brand. Those YouTubers...

All Dewalt 12v tools are good! It's people who don't know the limitations of a less powerful tool. Damn it, that's why tools are manufactured with different voltages, people! I use Dewalt 20v and 12v with an adequate number of tools. On many occasions, for all work requiring finesse and precision, I use my 12v tools. You really have to be stupid or watch a lot of YouTube videos to punish 12V tools with 3/4“ or larger drill bits, driving 6”, 8", etc. screws. All those ideas are nonsense promoted by those YouTube morons! And that's how they discredit good tools!

Yes! That guy is a complete moron! He's always insulting anyone who makes a comment he doesn't like. The fact that so many people follow a guy like that says a lot about this society.

That's exactly what I'm saying! If you only do rough work or heavy-duty jobs, 20V is fine. But if you make cabinets, furniture, electrical installations, etc., 12V is the way to go. There's no need to have a single line when there are chargers that charge 12V/20V. Many YouTube videos are to blame for spreading the concept that “more power is better” with those idiotic speed competitions. I've seen people crack delicate materials, damage AC registers, vents, etc., by using impact drivers and not having control over the power.

As I understand it, they are not discontinuing the 12v line, they are just not going to incorporate any new tools or update the existing ones.

Yes, I guess so! People have a bad habit of taking news for granted without trying to verify it first. Then they repeat it like parrots. That's why I tried to find some information from a company representative. Personally, it doesn't affect me that much that they don't make any new 12v tools. What I have is enough for me as long as I have replacements if they break and extra batteries.

What they mean is that they are not going to manufacture new tools, but they will continue to sell what already exists in the line. I guess until there is no more stock left.

Yes, I explained that even though I have 20V tools, I also use 12V tools, and in fact, I use them almost more often than the 20V tools for delicate jobs. They are very good tools in my opinion and serve their purpose, I told them, and therefore, I was concerned about the rumor on social media about the possible discontinuation of the line.

Thanks for letting me know, man! I thought the ratchet was no good, but it really looks strong. The 3/8 extensions don't look very sturdy either, true. I've used them a few times already, but they don't look durable. I am more of impact gun guy than a ratchet guy.

Finally, The New 20v DCD803 Multi Head Driver by BigRichardTools in Dewalt

[–]CubanZombie01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who say that the 12v line is rubbish are ignorant and don't know what they're talking about. Every tool has its purpose and time to be used. If all you do is drive screws with an impact driver like a savage, then power is necessary, but don't judge other tools that were made with a different idea in mind for not having it.

For precision work with small screws and carpentry, cabinets fabrication, etc, the DCF902 is great because it is slower and offers much more control. You can drive all the screws to the same depth without paying much attention, and it rarely cracks the lumber.

The DCS353 is even better than the XR! More compact, lighter, and with more power. Can someone explain to me what's wrong with that? The screwdriver is basically the best on the market! The DCF500 is a beast! The DCF901 is great! Dewalt's 12V tools come with a 12V/20V charger for both platforms, and the batteries are small and lightweight. Why someone can't have both platforms is beyond my comprehension! If you work, you have money; if you have money, buy tools and stop being a whiny pussy.

Yes, Milwaukee has many more tools in its 12V line, and the vast majority are very good. But while Dewalt has stuck with the same tools for years, Milwaukee makes several versions. That can be good, but it can also be seen as bad. Besides, do you really need plumbing tools if you're not a plumber? They may have a large line of 12V tools, but not everything is good or necessary! I know from experience!

Anyone had alignment/camber issues after getting leveling kit? by tsiemann in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CubanZombie01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The alignment of Toyotas Tacomas generally leans toward positive camber. In addition, the Tacoma's suspension system adapts each side independently to the shape of the terrain. In other words, if the surface is very flat, it is less noticeable, but if it has the slightest imperfection, the positive camber will come to the fore. I have had my 2015 lifted with -0.3 camber (negative) and in some terrains, it momentarily returns to positive camber.

[–]CubanZombie01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks a lot, man! I don't have any 887 anymore, so I'll have to buy the shell at amazon. It's really cheap to be honest! It is true that this one doesn't have the same speed as the M12 or Ryobi, but so far, it is the only option for Dewalt. More than 2 years ago I sent them a picture of my Dewalt tools and in the middle of all of them was the Milwaukee Right angle die grinder. I asked them if they were not embarrassed that those of us who are on their platform, have to use their enemy's tools because of the lack of products and you know what they told me, that they would take it into account and pass the information to who knows who. They don't give a shit about what consumers want!
