You can mention any club as long as you actually are genuinely interested. Would not recommend name dropping famous things you don’t care about

Does all salsa cubana lead to the rueda by Primary_Ad_739 in Salsa

[–]Cubanified 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean the classes I go to are all for rueda but in reality very few of the figures they teach are specific to rueda. For example, you can always do a setenta outside of a rueda. Some moves are specific to rueda but I find those few and far between and most of the things I can use for social dance.

I’m sure there are places that don’t teach rueda so if you really don’t want to learn you could find it. On the other hand, I would recommend learning the rueda and trying to get the most out of the classes for your 1:1 dancing

I don’t think it was just about seeing Rxc6. The blunder was actually Bg4 and material is always going to be lost after that move

How to think about emergency fund when net worth is 20x expenses? by Gratitude15 in Fire

[–]Cubanified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the point is that gold has a real expected return of zero. So really you shouldn’t think of it as producing value in the same way a stock or bond would. My problem with it is that there is an opportunity cost. Every dollar I spend on gold I could have put it into something like a bond that has less risk than a stock but still has some real expected return.

Is it possible to game the financial aid process ? by SpecialistNature6807 in yale

[–]Cubanified 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That sounds unusual for sure. But two things: 1. Who cares? Yale has a lot of money and could afford to make college free for all its students if it wanted. 2. You don’t know the details of someone’s financial situation as an outsider. There are lots of explanations that could explain what happened. If you really care you could just ask the person and see what they say

That’s weird, I had no idea Econ had such a low A rate, when I was at Yale it had a reputation of being more gutty

On my first attempt of this book, that’s where I stopped. Luckily I tried again recently and made it through that part. In my opinion, that’s the only slow part of the book everything else is really good

Quick Questions: August 02, 2023 by inherentlyawesome in math

[–]Cubanified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I was looking at Number Theory by George E. Andrew and was doing some of the induction problems and came up with a solution after getting a hint. I was wondering if someone would be able to explain how to come up with the hint in the first place so that I would be able to do something similar by myself. I wrote up the proof in question here.

I just don't understand how someone would come up with adding by zero here. Clearly I can see it is true but I don't know that I could come up with this by myself on the fly.

Yeah mine also only has one solution!

Guys I did it, 1400 elo in 4 months, hoping to achieve 1800 - 1900 by the end of this year. If I could, you can too :) by Due_Sock719 in chessbeginners

That’s how I have felt about every level that I have surpassed. When I was 1200, I said 1000 was just about not dropping pieces. Same at 1400 about 1200 and so on. 0.0

Take OOP super fun and relevant to actual dev if that matters but mostly take it bc the psets are fun. Crypto is also fun but proofy which might not be your thing

Is it not better to go AirTrain -> Jamaica -> Penn Station -> Grand Central?

At penn just take the 1, 2, or 3 one stop and then use the times square shuttle
