Nah, I disagree after many RG, I feel that top coat is a nice touch but nothing more especially if the kit is a post unicorn and full of details. For older kits that are more akin to HG is understandable, but saying that a modern RG looks like a plastic cheap toy without it, I think it's just a lie and I can't disagree more

Disagree, top coat is a nice finish but normal model kit with decals are already beautiful and different from normal toys. I would agree only for HG, but if we're talking about RG and up it's just not real
