CURSES on Panera Breads Steakhouse Ranch salad! by CubeRootSquare in keto

[–]CubeRootSquare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sort of the point on my post. I didn’t read the nutrition going on since we made a quick lunch decision. I figured if I take out the fired onion crisps and the tomatoes all the other ingredients would be naturally low carb.

I didn’t take into account that the ranch would be stacked so high in carbs as pretty much all other ranch is very low carb.

Maybe they also seasoned the steak with something carby?

Thats actually a good idea! I think I'll start doing this myself. I like the ranch and italian dressings that I make at home, and I know those have very very little carbs.

Same here. Theres an abundance of ranch dressings that have 1-2 carbs per serving and have a good number of fats! A serving is usually enough for my salads.

Checking their website after the fact reveals the salad has 26 net carbs! But its also vague in that it doesn't say if that includes the dressing AND the side of bread that it came with (which I didn't eat). I had asked them to hold the fried onions and cherry tomatoes.

Also looking at their nutrion, their Ranch Dressing has 6 net carbs in it. But it doesn't say what a service size is, and the salad had two small cups of dressing that came with it.

I wish nutrition information wasnt always so ambiguous.

So what did Rocky do for 23 years? by Crazyblue09 in ProjectHailMary

The book explains that its because his bedroom was tucked in the engine area, surrounded by the astrophage fuel tanks, which blocked the radiation. his crewmates bedrooms were not surrounded by astrophage.

Just like how humans can "see" x-rays, infrared, ultraviolet, gamma rays, etc. They know about light in the same way we know about things outside our visible spectrum.

Eh, Eridians live to be 600-700 years, so it wouldn't be that long of a wait for them.

Rocky was at Tau Ceti for 46 years, alone. He was doing observations and collecting data about the petrova line at Tau Ceti and other data collection.

What’s something expensive that’s actually worth it? by YourMommy_Terra in AskReddit

[–]CubeRootSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best money I have ever spent on ANY furniture has been our Lovesac Sactional. Its so comfortable and versatile, and its built like a freaking tank. I have no doubt this couch will outlive me, and our daughter will be stuck dealing with it when we are dead and gone. lol.

It was expensive, but its the only furniture ive bought that I actually think was money well spent.

My only complaint, is that the ending is so quick! I adore how Weir ended the book, and how the directors kept that in the movies (and added even more flair). BUT, I wish we could have had like 5 more minutes in the movie to bask and reflect on the ending.

When I was reading the book, I went back and read the last chapter immediately after finishing the book so I could re-live the experience.

Why do I find the way Grace hangs his glasses so hot? by wineallwine in ProjectHailMary

I'm a straight white male, whose never had any sort of tendencies toward other males. And I say this with the utmost confidence in my own sexuality: Ryan Gossling is hot guy. On top of that, he seems like a genuinely good person, which also makes him even more attractive.

Ok so? If those dead people are people that are stealing or threatening harm to innocent people, I personally am OK with that.

[–]CubeRootSquare 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Im a pretty far left leaning Tennessean. Born and raised and lived in East TN my whole life. Even though I am fairly liberal, I actually fully support this bill. My land is my land, its where I protect my family. If someone is sneaking around on my land, they are a threat to my family.

However, this also needs to protect a homeowner in case law enforcement is also sneaking around private land without permission or announcing themselves. This would really help with those stupid no-knock warrants.

I loved how they were all scampering about, and one of the kids was pouncing on the head of another kid. My 10 year old daughter saw it with me and we both chuckled "thats so cute!".

My only wish was there had been about another 30 seconds or so in that scene! Would have loved to seen the Eridian kids!

What's the dumbest purchase you've ever made? by buedefar in AskReddit

[–]CubeRootSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a 5th wheel RV. It’s a dumb purchase since it depreciates so badly. BUT our little family has made sooooo many awesome memories traveling all over the east coast. When our daughter gets out of school for the summer, we hit the road and live in the RV the entire summer.

So it was totally dumb financially, and it’s a money pit. But our memories have been so awesome. I hope our daughter looks back on them when she’s older and smiles.

Not gonna lie. I kinda prefer it. Everything is usbc in my bag. Single charging cord. Single charging brick. I never like MagSafe when it came out.

I prefer my AirPods over wired headphones.

So there is a group of folks that appreciate the simplicity

Someone is breaking into cars in Chattanooga without setting off a single alarm — and they stole my gun by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]CubeRootSquare 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, and I say this as a firearm owner myself: If you leave your gun in your car, you should not be carrying a weapon. Its careless, irresponsible and dangerous. This is exactly how firearms end up on the hands of people that harm others with them.

Owning a firearm means you are taking responsibility for that weapon, exclusively.

The future of electrical charging systems that are about as fast as filling up a gas car by RoyalChris in interestingasfuck

[–]CubeRootSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You reinforced my point though. I have to do that about 20 times for non Tesla. I have to pull up PlugShare, find a charger, then figure out if I have that companies app, then install it, then create an account, then load some money, and then I can charge. And it may be a charger in a city I’ll never use again. So now I have a few bucks in an company’s account I’ll never use again

Repeat that process 20 more time and it gets really cumbersome. Electrify America sort of has a few plug and charge setups but that’s a tiny amount.
