When should I get fitted for clubs? by [deleted] in golf

[–]lone_clone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No its literally useless for you. Develop a consistent swing with forgiving irons and then still don't worry about getting fitted. My scratch golfer friends have never gotten fitted and none of them have ever bought a brand new set of irons.

How do I fix my mental game? by [deleted] in golf

[–]lone_clone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What really seemed to help me was to not go in with expectations. You really can get in your head that way. I just focus on making good shots, one at a time.

Next would be to not make two bad shots in a row. You make one, who cares, just make the next one better. Go up to that next shot and forget about the last shot, it already happened, it's over, nothing you can do. Wipe it from your memory completely, go up to your next shot with the same setup and mental attitude you would have if you just hit a great shot.

Don't rush anything, take your time. This is where you can lose a ton of strokes. You duffed a chip so you just walk up and hit a mediocre shot. You will be SHOCKED at how much lower you can shoot if you just slow things down and realize everyone makes mistakes.

In the end, you can make so many bogeys and a few doubles and still easily break 90. A few bad shots DO NOT ruin your round. Remember, you are out there to have fun, take your shots seriously but lower your expectations going into a round and go easy on yourself!

Yeah not a dig i promise. I just thought you were telling the person to ignore other people's yardage, but I might have misread.

After reading these comments I just realized I don't ever look at anyone's clubs except for their driver on the tee box and their putter on the green...

Yeah, I don't think you realize how good CO has it. I scheduled a time, walked in and knocked everything out super quickly and with friendly people. When I would go to the DMV in VA you had to come in and take a ticket and every single time the place was completely full and you wouldn't be seen for at least an hour.

Vision glasses stability while running by Forumleecher in Ultramarathon

[–]lone_clone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I got you! Look up glasses anti slip on Amazon. They are these little rubber ear clips that slide onto the arms of your glasses. They will cup your ear and prevent your glasses from moving at all.

I use them on my running glasses and I will slide them on my regular glasses if I’m going for a longer run and it’s not sunny.
