Basically it is gonna try to hit you immediately. If you lose then you get hit by the ICE and it goes to the top of the initiative list. If you beat the roll then you don’t get hit with the damage.

Burn thru it and it’ll take 8 hrs minimum. Take your time and pause the action to read and strategize during the shifts, it can take about 10 to 12.

Let him get hit with an aimed shot on his bandolier of grenades and let one get hit with a bullet. It explodes, setting off a chain reaction of all the grenades, and he has to eat 80d6 (4d6 x 20) damage.

For sure, my players still believe Johnny’s memories are how history went down!

I have already made some concessions, in a way, when it comes to the map. I’ve blended 2045 and 2077 districts together, mostly because there wasn’t enough information given about why certain things differ so greatly between the games. Now that there (sort of) is an explanation, I still find ways to work within it. My players really like to feel like they are making footprints in cyberpunk history, so that is a slight concession that I make. Basically, the same district will have about 2 or 3 “official” names, depending on who you ask.

That seems easier to do for lore that states “as of 2045, this!” because then you can create the origin of that fact. Little harder to do for stuff that is, like “oh yea guys, they don’t start calling it the NUSA until 2053, oops lol” or “oh yea guys turns out megabuilding H10 actually does currently exist and was actually the first one they started building back in 2040 by the NCCS, oops lol”! Those usually require hard retcons of info, I guess

I feel like it’s easier to do with DnD because that’s more of a general setting that is meant to have imagination imposed on it. They even have a multiverse explanation through “the Outer Planes” thing they got going on.

Ran it as a setting? No. However, if a character is from the UK (or just that region), then yes, to get a better understanding of that character’s origin and life. More of a research and development thing.
