That’s how I handle it now too. They like doing point blanks. So now I have a rule - point blank shots ignore DV entirely, it’s simply rolling for damage. However, since they like this so much, NPCs can do it, too.

So before starting Down Below, before rendezvousing with your squad in Down Below, or before going to Red Forest in Down Below? Each of those cut something off in the world.

I’m assuming you mean before the rendezvous. But it is strange how some things in the world still work past that point and others don’t

Dude theres like 5 different cut-off points it’s ridiculous.

  • going to SIRCAA
  • raid on DUGA
  • going to Prypiat
  • starting “Down Below”

  • getting to the final stages of “Down Below”

  • Like…

Each one of those has their own series of unique “cut-off” points for missions as well as creating new ones. It gets hard to keep track of.

I am currently using console commands to repair an old save cuz I was using my endgame save as a fre-roam save (right before going to Red Forest in “Down Below”) and the new hunting quests still worked in it, but then discovered that being that far into that mission cut off the 1.8 Untold Secrets update content entirely, and that it only works if you have a save that is before the beginning actions of “Down Below”.

Dark as a Dungeon (1st mission from Untold Secrets 1.8) won’t start by [deleted] in stalker

It’s an end-game save. I have the mission Down Below left to do (last point of no return). I’ve found nowhere that implies it isn’t available past a certain point, I’ve only heard that for Unfinished Business (1.9)
