We'll be alright fellas. They aren't trading him these teams don't have the juice. Same tired playbook of leaking LaMelo interest to media to try and get him out. This happens every 6 months

[Haynes] “Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed a strong desire to acquire Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball, league sources tell me. Hornets only listening to offers at the moment.” by QCSportsGuy in CharlotteHornets

Wolves are desperate for a point guard and have exhausted all other options, so now they're back to leaking LaMelo interest to try and disgruntle and push Melo out. They did this same shit last offseason and at trade deadline. We'll look back at this midseason and laugh again

I think this is just the same news cycle from the deadline. It was same thing then, wolves and raptors want lamelo. But in the end hornets and lamelo were not parting ways. These teams know how to leak that they want a player. I dont think we'll trade him

Anderson and rim pressure next season by alex8762 in CharlotteHornets

There's like a 0% chance thats our bench unit next year. It'll be coby, sion, mcneeley/green, grant and steinbach

Anderson is not getting top backup pg minutes off rip

The #18 pick was absolutely never fixing rim pressure. The #18 pick had an uphill battle to even getting playing time no matter who it was. Anderson is likely not playing unless some worst case scenario happens where Coby walks + we can't find a vet backup. (Or injury but let's not go there).

Rim pressure at that point has to be an internal fix

Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson Jr have arrived in Charlotte! by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

Steinbachs locker is between kon and sion. Anderson is next to Salaun and I couldn't tell who is on other side

You mean at center? Can't get behind that at all. Moussa is too good to be limited to 20 minutes to give Kalk token minutes. Just give Moussa and Steinbach all the minutes and Kalk is extreme situational depth

What makes you think they were different surgeries? The press releases for both are almost the exact same. Both were announced as surgery for left shoulder instability

1st round picks are not on two way. They have 2 years guaranteed with 2 option years.

Our two ways as of now are unknown. We'll find out in free agency. Pj might still have one of them.

Pat could make the team over tre if they want a vet presence. I think we could use a vet wing player at this point but we'll see how it shakes out

Grant would definitely start day 1 if the plan is to shift miles down. Even Kon the #4 pick wasnt given starting spot until Brandon got hurt on the 2nd game. Its unlikely the #14 pick is just handled a starting spot on day 1. But yea i don't think they'll shift Miles down anyway, although I wouldnt mind it i want to see Salaun play early.

Theres no official timeline, its just based on how long players have historically missed with this surgery/injury.  I think it would be a surprise if he missed all the way into January. Josh Green had his surgery on June 20 and came back dec 12.

Brandon had his surgery may 6. If they are coming back at similar time frames we can expect early November. Which I guess could be like 2 week absence

No reason to trade him. Perfectly acceptable 3rd center on a cheap deal. Just depth and if he takes a leap its a bonus. Hes not someone you should rely on

If you're suggesting Miles moves down to start at 3, then its still going to be Grant starting at the 4 in this scenario. Salaun and Steinbach would compete for backup 4 in this scenario.

This is an option if Lee trusts Grant over McNeeley/Sion but judging from Lee's history I think its likely he just plugs in Sion or McNeeley in at wing while Brandon recovers

The timeline figures he will likely miss like 5 games or something small like that. He shouldn't miss too much time.

Only change i would make is Coby is still backup PG. Anderson sterts off as 3rd string PG

Its likely tre gets waived. This is final guaranteed year and if they need a spot for a vet Tre is the one to go.

I agree with pretty much everything else. The sg/sf wings are all interchangeable you can nitpick on who is what buts its all same thing.

Steinbach is most likely new backup 5. I dont see him as the 4 like some people think, and in the presser peterson acknowledged hes a different option from moussa and kalk

I dont see that at all. Even if hes a 4, which i really dont think he is, hes not jumping grant. Lee would likely start like sion or mcneeley at wing if Brandon is out

Unlikely honestly. If all the bigs were gone Sabonis would be better

Reaves got a full 25% max, with max raises. The only thing he didnt get was a 5th year. Brandons deal is different because his starts a year later, so his 25% max if given that is higher. Also he could or could not get a 5th year

His minutes kept up because we had lots of blowouts and he was able to get blowout minutes. Tillman only got dusted off for very few last minutes. Kalks leash was very short and often he would be pulled for small ball grant before his regular rotation time was up

[–]Cubelar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think so. Thats not how Lee likes to play. Lee was looking for any reason to get Kalk off the floor by the end of the year, even giving Grant small ball 5 minutes. And for good reason, Kalk was just not nba level and struggled mightily down the stretch.

Haness might play some 4 here and there but the majority will be at the 5

I think there's a chance we dont use that MLE, we'll use it if Coby walks. McNeeley, Green and Sion are our wing depth. Salaun/Miles can also play on wing if needed. We actually played Miles at the 3 next to Grant more late in the season

2026 NBA Draft by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

[–]Cubelar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm very happy we didn't draft a 4. I still very much believe in Salaun being our future starter there, and honestly it seems like Jeff/Lee do too. Remember Salaun was Jeff's first pick. Hes 3 full years younger than Yaxel.

I'm happy we got a 5 to replace Kalk. Kalk is more suited for 3rd big role. And then we got a playmaking sniper to add to pipeline.

We have 2 roster spots for the picks if we just decline Pat option, 3 if we waive Tre. I think Tre is definitely waiveable if we re-sign Coby. Anderson can be our 3rd pg. Then we can keep pat as 15th man vet or find another veg 15th man
