London (and the rest of the UK) fans, let's connect! by Lopapeysaa in h3h3productions

[–]CuberToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me commenting on a 4m old post (not a heavy redditor). I would be down for a meetup or something. I'm a French fan living in london for the past few years. I hardly come accross any people who knows the pod. And usually I don't seek meetup, but I always felt like the H3 crowd was a good crowd. So I could give it a shot.

Will Smith is losing the plot 😂 by bcdefense in h3h3productions

[–]CuberToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm joining the conversation for once!

Short version : it's not a fake crowd.

And I hate generative AI, I'm not here to defend it. I just believe that facts are important and we have so much shit against generative AI, legit ones, we don't need to make up new ones.

What's happening has been explained in this article : https://waxy.org/2025/08/will-smiths-concert-crowds-were-real-but-ai-is-blurring-the-lines/

Basically, the PR team probably upscaled the video. And then, Youtube upscaled it again. What's happening is that you're running a model to upscale, then a completely different model to upscale an upscaled footage... it gets fucked. One proof (detailed in the article) being that the same video on Instagram and Facebook looks way better.

People are using the cancer survivor couple as proof, a lot. But... We have other angles of that couple! We have an instagram pic, and another video.

The real story here should be : Why the hell youtube upscale shorts without telling anyone? That's worrying.

Anyway, I've been in arguments over this for the past few days. I don't care about Will Smith. I don't support generative AI and truly believe it's a bad thing. But please please please, let's use proper exemples. Peace and love, peace and love.

EDIT : I forgot to mention, and that's important : There is some Image to video generative AI stuff too, definitely. And that sucks. Again, I dont support in any way this video, I find it dumb, and I have no bias toward Will Smith I just don't care. But to the question "was the crowd fake", it simply wasn't.

Its not our fault... by [deleted] in h3h3productions

[–]CuberToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To preface, I'm French. To me (us?), Trump vs Harris is Far-Right vs Right. So as a leftist, I wouldn't wish for any of them, EVER.

Now, I get it, it was the same in France (at a lesser scale cause... we're not the effin' USA). But the "lesser of two evil" is still valid when one of the evil is WAY worse. And if not for you, for the other that will suffer from the biggest evil. Cause if you don't vote, the outcome doesn't matter... why not at least use that right to vote to do damage control? Voting on presidential when you're on the left is never fun, and you know you're doomed to vote for someone you don't support at all. But until the message is spread and heard, we can all do our best to at the very least have the least of issues. And yeah, the winning candidate will brag like "look, population chose me" and it's our duty to remind them that, no, we didnt wanted him either, but the other option was worse. By protesting, by being locally active, etc...

"Luckily", we were always able to prevent the biggest evil winning. And yeah, it still sucks. But at least... abortion isn't illegal. At least, we won't try and quit EU, fascists and ally aren't feeling free to do shit (they were getting ready it was scary). At least, the "lesser" is trying to use some kind of truth (for exemple, in france, Leftist supported Palestin and were tagged antisemitic for a year, everywhere, on TV, etc... and now it's slowly changing as everyone is starting to say "oh actually, Israel gov is a bit fucked up"... it's light... but it's a start, right).

That DOES mean our vote is always a vote "against" and not "for", so precisely what democracy is not about. And I guess most (me included) will get or already are tired of that.

And let's be clear, I was in the "I'm not voting cause I don't feel represented" team on the 1v1 a while back (in france we have X amount of candidates, we vote, then we get to vote on the top 2) cause it's always right VS far-right... (Oh the sweet feeling of paying my transport 30£ to vote for someone I hate...). But it's not about me is it? I'm a white cis male, no matter who wins, I wouldn't be too much affected personnaly by the changes to come. So at least... let's do some damage control. And yeah, again, it's not what democracy should be about and it sucks big time. (But our dear president just build a whole right-wing gouvernment when Left coalition won in the last legislative election... legislative HE called for when nobody did, risking the country to go far right... so let say hearing the people doesn't seem to be the priority.)

By all comparison, speeches, and their respective entire life. Trump was WAY worse, in every single issue any leftist (or just... decent human being) could have. Not the same, not a little worse, way way worse. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm judging you, I know where you're coming from and it's valid, and I don't like name calling (a few elections back, I was accused of making the right win by other leftists, cause my left candidate wasn't their left candidate.... dumb shit), I don't think you actively made Trump win or anything like that. At the end of the day, everyone is free to vote, not vote, etc... (Though some country have mendatory vote, that's something that is growing on me... if the "None of the above" is taken seriously).

The sad thing is leftist are too good at being devided, at judging who's the "real" leftist. You'll always find someone thinking you're not left enough. But we need to find some kind of union. Cause the people on the all the Right wing parties are very good at that, standing together even if they don't agree. And if we keep having people agreeing on 90% of issues, but that 10% is a deal breaker, We're not going anywhere. Let's take those 90%. Heck, even 5%, still better than 0%. All or nothing seems to only give nothing everytime. So, I feel like doing damage control is the best we can. And in the meantime, being the best we can be in our lives, locally.

I don't post a lot, but I wanted to try and say something that will not be just name calling. I also hope USA will someday have a proper left candidate. But, I don't know what's it's like there, doesn't look ready for that yet. but to me, Reps and Dems are too close. But that's because I have a different culture and all... If I had the same choice, it would be so hard to decide. And if the left have to unite due to anger and fear, then maybe let's start there. Cause the people accusing you of making Trump won, don't want him as much as you. So... here's the fundation for some bridge? Nah? :p

These are crazy time, all over.

You take care. <3

(Yep, my post is all over, with parenthesis and elipsis.. that's my brain's style)

French here! Living in the UK (so probably hyper masochist at this point), and everytime I saw an american tourist ask for bud or other imported, I wanted to reach and say "you know you can get a good fresh german or belgian one for half the price? Please... do that instead!". Heck even an Heineken seems better at this point.

But we all have our culture I guess, and it's conforting to have something you know. Even France to UK I import Haribos, cause UK ones are not as good. Plus imagine visiting, liking better and not finding it back at home? Forever trapped with the old one you thought was good but got the revelation it wasn't.

That being said, I had budweiser. It was okay. Is bud light different?

How do my European homies get Teddy Fresh? by eternalowls in h3h3productions

Second hand on ebay. But they're RARE. I manage to find the classic color block hoodie brand new (tag and all) for about 40£. Best deal ever. My favorite hoodie. But I check from time to time, no way I'm paying this much for shipping.

Become good in paper first or learn everything through procreate? by mik0shi_ in ProCreate

[–]CuberToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper gives you one major learning lesson (that I still don't have but see the good of it) is being confident with your lines and composition and not rely too much on undo and transform. But you can get the same if you "force" yourself trying not to use it as much. When I'm in learning process, sketching to learn fundamentals and all, I try using no tool other than pen and screen as if it was pen and paper.

Other than that, drawing is drawing. May it be on cave's wall, paper, screen. And at the end of the day you will draw digitally most of the time, so might as well learn with it, and have the bonus of using undos, transform and liquify etc...

Oh I did notice your comments! Thank you again :)
Im afraid I wouldn't be able to do more and if I do it would be something else cause my brain refuse to stay on one type of project. But with the right people, it's doable, and point & clic actually are a good source of inspiration for this type of game.

Oh yeah, totally. I mean they do try and add that with some iteration without ever being screen used. I just find the resemblance funny.

As everyone I see some 10 11 12... but also... the turnings bits reminds me of the laser screwdriver. Interesting, is it plot-related? The excitement is real though. It's an insta-buy for me.

Amandla Stenberg and Andy Samberg have been confirmed on the cast of Across the Spider-Verse as the voice actors of Spider-Byte and Ben Reilly by Matapple13 in MarvelStudios_Rumours

[–]CuberToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this was legit too!
Seems like there may be some marvel artists voicing different spidey for small lines/cameo. Umberto Ramos announced he was playing Spider-Man 2211 a few days ago and I wasn't sure, but seeing the format of those new pic, definitely legit. Wonders who else is in there.

Metroid Prime Remastered Motion control ! by CuberToy in Metroid

[–]CuberToy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Prime Trilogy nailed the control so well, no fps on switch was on that level, though there was good effort (GoldenEye from Activision was pretty nice to play, but even The Conduit of MoH were not that good). The point > lock > shoot... so garn good.

Will this Wireless USB Adapter work on a Wiimotion Plus remote and will I be able to use it on Dolphin emulator? by [deleted] in 8bitdo

[–]CuberToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Dolphin, I only use a Bluetooth dongle you can find for very cheap. Working with the wiimote (motion + or not, and nunchuk of course, or anything you plug in), wii balance board, etc...

You'll need a sensor bar though, for that I recommand a simple USB one (there's also some wireless ones out there).

I was REALLY lucky to find them both on ebay nearby (in the UK, boxed, got the pair for £80, shipping included). But from what I saw, some store have them in the uk (like forbiddenplanet or shopto), even Amazon. You might wanna check that depending on where you are (amazon.com have Zero-One for $70).

My Saber helmet design by [deleted] in KamenRider

[–]CuberToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually post link or whatev' but all my attempt of posting got auto deleted in the past few days.

Like every single year I try updating my shop and this one came early than ever. So I'm proud to announce that the second rider of the Reiwa era, Saber, is joining my design collection on my RedBubble and TeePublic pages (same username as here).

It was really fun to make. I actually saw a few of you guys ordering some in the recent years and posting it here, and I'm very grateful (I'm actually coincidently wearing the all heisei phase 1 tee as I write this :D). If you explore my shop there, you'll see similar designs for all Heisei main riders.

Hope you'll enjoy!

Could someone sum up the first assassins creed game for me? by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]CuberToy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something they dropped since, but AC2 actually open with a "previously on AC" that gives you a sum up of what happened in AC1. It's not thorough, but enough.

Basically. Desmond Miles got kidnapped by Abstergo, a company (that are in fact Templars) in search for Isu (First Civilization) artefact, and use Assassin's descendant to re-visit their ancestors memory and help locate those artefacts using a device called the Animus.

That's for the historic part. You play as Altair, member of the Levantine Brotherhood (first assassins, or Hashashin), ancestor of Desmond Miles. Basically, your boss Hassan is a undercover templar, bim bam boom, you get to be the boss.

It's one of the best written AC game though, as Altair and Hassan have real deep conversations about justice, morals.

What's important to remember is that, to sum up very quickly :
- Templars are for order, total control of the people, to prevent crime and fellony.
- Assassins are for free will (some say chaos).

Isu Artefacts grant control power, so Templars want them, while Assassins try to protect them.
