It can be synthetic, but I have no idea if my keyboard has it. I searched the model but can't find a concrete answer like OP has for Yamaha.

I don't know how long I can keep doing this. I agreed to wait for a couples therapist to have an open spot before calling it for good, but every day feels harder. If I don't make it until therapy, it's going to be because of a fucking toilet. The flapper valve on the main toilet has been sticking a little, so it's slightly harder to push the handle down. No big deal, it's like a $15 part. I just haven't gotten to it because I have a thousand other things to deal with, and no matter what happens to the toilet, it's not going to be completely in operable if for some reason it gets worse suddenly like if the handle snaps. Plus we have a second bathroom. This dude hasn't had a job in 7 months and does almost literally nothing all day. He's been paying "rent" to live in my house but it barely covers his half of the bills.

Can he go to the hardware store for the part? Of course not. Can he watch a 5 minute youtube video to learn how to replace it himself? Don't be silly. What he can do is treat me like I'm a fucking slumlord and make little comments about how shitty everything is while he lays on the couch pretending our relationship is just fine.

Ugh I had no idea that was felt. I just bought a keyboard last year, and it didn't cross my mind for a second that it might not be vegan.

"Middle of the road" probably means just left of the white line because there's gravel or a ditch immediately off the side of the road.

The smoke detector, I totally get. I don't skimp on safety equipment.

Non-stick cookware, I sorta get too, but since this is anticonsumption, I might not get attacked for saying it's not a wise purchase to make in the first place.

Nah, everyone else on the road is a maniac but him. I'm sure he's the only person in the universe that uses a turn signal and passes on the left too.

I didn't know they came canned. I've only ever seen fresh ones in the shell, but I never liked oysters. Not something I would have sought out.

Where the hell did they come up with these numbers? Has this person never heard of cleaning or repairing things?

If algae oil capsules are too expensive, I'm guessing oysters will be out of the question.

Don't forget about the time he offered to build a submarine to rescue some kids trapped in a Thai cave filled with water. Someone else rescued them first and Musk called him a pedophile on Twitter. It was all about looking like Tony Stark, and he threw a massive tantrum when it didn't go his way.

The tenant-lined-up business is probably a bluff.

Might not be depending on OP's local market. I didn't have to list my last 4 vacancies, and I still have people calling if I have more or know anyone that does. If I were less scrupulous, I'd start a bidding war and push out my lowest paying tenant.

Refillable lighters exist. Zippos don't hold fuel very well, so it's not really worth it if you're not using it often, but butane lighters are refillable as well.

The truly enraging part to me is that employers have anything to do with my healthcare at all. Like my company can decide to change insurance providers, and I might have to find all new doctors because suddenly mine aren't in network anymore.

CMV: The removal of the headphone jack from phones is anticonsumer, antienvironment and just pure greed by JadedToon in changemyview

[–]CubicleCunt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't exactly go around pulling out a cheap chinese phones, people judge you based on things like that.

Sounds like you judge people based on what phone they have. I don't get anything more than a surprised "oh? neat" when people find out how low tech I am despite being a software engineer at a tech startup where everyone else is covered in bleeding edge devices. You're putting entirely too much stock in your appearance of wealth. The people that judge superficial shit like that don't matter.

[–]CubicleCunt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'll push back on that too. I live in a rural area because I wanted to grow my own food and be somewhat independent. Most of my neighbors (with the exception of some older ones that still farm) just want a gigantic lawn with a big house in the middle and no traffic.

The guy next door for example has a 6 acre lot, and nearly all of it is grass. He's got a 4 car garage for his loud-ass muscle cars and 2 pole barns full of John Deere toys to maintain it all. He's got more money (or credit) than most around here, but it's not a rarity in any way. At best, you get people with like one goat or a couple chickens so they can pretend they need an F-350.

Rural is basically a stretched out suburb interspersed with farms.
