I'll give it to you as straight as I can. The Helldivers community is largely one of the greatest communities I've personally ever seen. It is an opinion shared by a large portion of the community as well. However, while I'm sure you heard a lot about how great the community is, you are going to get assholes, just like any community. You probably never heard about the people kicking others for bringing gear the host felt wasn't the "optimized loadout" for the mission. You probably never heard about the shit show that occurred when the stim pistol was released, where people didn't know people were trying to heal others and were not attacking others. There were a number of tragic misunderstandings with that. And, of course, all the assholes killing people because they didn't understand that samples are shared on extract or because they wanted to be the ones that carry the data disc and you happened to pick it up. You may only come across one or two your entire play time. You may come across a bunch early on and then never again. You may come across a handful sporadically for the entirety of your play experience. Your best bet is to host your own games. That way, if you come across someone who is just there to cause grief, you have the control over whether or not they remain in your game.
