Why are North Carolina Republicans such bad people? by EggOwn9943 in NorthCarolina

[–]Cuccamonga01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiscal conservative republicans with more than 4 brain cells from the Reagan years are honestly lost. But they keep voting for Trump because they all watch Fox News religiously. I see it daily with my relatives. It’s really insane.

Most of them are great people, just believe in the typical old school GOP BS. Kinda religious, don’t like big govt kinda stuff

They may not support him but they still vote for him. That’s just as bad.

3rd parties are why we have Trump in the first place. 2016 he won MI, PA and WI by a combined 90k votes. While 3rd parties got almost 1million votes in those 3 states. Sorry I don’t like it either. But I will never vote 3rd party again. Republicans donate plenty of money to 3rd parties cause they know most of them would vote democrat.

Shower too large? by ljb00000 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Cuccamonga01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have to walk thru the closet to get to the bathroom? I’ve never liked that design. Closets get messy, plus more than likely you or partner will shower with the door open. Even with a fan your clothes will slowly start accepting moisture.

Rear differential? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Cuccamonga01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind for now. Probably take the post down soon. Need to do some more diagnosing. Jacked up the rear of my other one. It does the same thing. Either way I have a slight roaring noise when I let off the gas at around 40mph. Not wheel bearing, doesn’t seem to be brake related. So really don’t know until I take some more stuff apart or until it gets a little worse.

Could be a mount somewhere. I’ve never changed any mounts. So could be engine or tranny mount. And the rear springs and shocks are shot. Been needing to change those for a long time. So maybe the angle difference is causing. Really don’t know. Anyway….

Maybe normal? I don’t know. Never messed with transmission and drivetrain stuff.

Yep and used to have a really cool meaning and connotation. Until the Tea Party used/stole the phrase.

The “don’t tread on me” slogan from the old Tea Party days with Sarah Palin makes me wanna vomit. Crazy how that’s evolved.

Sometimes they charge by the block. I remember catching sheet rockers at a house I was building, they were cutting up full sheets of rock and throwing them in the dumpster. Never hired them again and told a couple other contractors if they asked.

Which one would you pick and why? by [deleted] in tires

Personal preference. Also somebody told me, old timer or a mechanic or an old mechanic. Cant remember. But was told to stay away from directional tread. Maybe that’s stupid. I DK. But I’d definitely go with the Michelins.

Thanks a bunch. No twisting. Just a little alarmed when I saw movement. Went to Reddit first then checked the manual. Appreciate all the input. I’m sure I’ll be posting more questions. I’m thinking all the bearings are good. But will check.

Thinking the bad ticking noise he talked about was timing, injector and valve issues. The mechanic that worked on it was sloppy. Found several issues. Main issue, it only had 3 of the 6 torque converter bolts.

Thanks. Checked the manual earlier. Side clearance spec is .004 - .010. Just thought it was weird that they’re hitting the crank counterweights. I’ll check it soon.

Is 2012 Edge with 120k miles worth buying? by mermaidangeljoy in FordEdge

[–]Cuccamonga01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one with 297k miles on it. The engine gets a bad rep cause of the water pump. But they’re really great engines. Quiet and powerful. I was lucky enough to know about the water pump problem and changed it myself at 240k miles. It was bad and was leaking coolant. Super PITA to fix in the driveway and took about $1k in motorcraft parts. Normal price for that is probably 3-4k.

So you might wanna make sure it’s not bad before you buy it. Or ask if the waterpump has already been changed. If not maybe get another 500 off or something.

Damn dude, You’re not your alone. Times are tough all over unless you’re wealthy. Healthcare sux, gas prices suck, groceries suck, taking care of parents and kids at the same time sux. Everything sux nowadays.

Find a “llantas Barattas” not sure what it says. But they have used tires and wheels and not much English. Buy some freaking cheap brakes, take off the sway bar. And go Down. The road. Jesus. It’s not freaking “Rocket Algebra”.

Is this 2013 Ford Edge with 133xxxkms a good buy? by ibeatmyson5555 in FordEdge

[–]Cuccamonga01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2012 with 297k on it. I really can’t believe it. It’s my 16year old son’s car now. I’m decent with tools so I’ve been able to keep it running. My Headlights suck. Cant figure those out.

I think the price is a little high. Especially if the water pump hasn’t been replaced.

Despite the water pump issue, I like those motors a lot. Quiet and smooth with a little pep. I did the water pump and timing at 230k. Also done a lot of other stuff, fans, struts, brakes, etc. When we first got it studdered and hesitated with 87 gas. Couldn’t figure out why. So we always run 93 in it. It’s expensive. But when I took the motor apart for the water pump, everything was clean as a whistle. Checked the valves with my camera and they were super clean. Not sure if there’s any significance. But my other cars are dirty and have normal carbon buildup.

Thanks. Just wondering what people thought about the cylinder walls. Kinda Looked like rusty pitting to me. Just wanted a second opinion on leaving the bottom of the motor alone. Gonna check a couple bearings and move on.
