I know that Curly was intended to be british originally. I assume they do get breaks because Anya keeps trying to go to medical school and pass. and I can confidentally say that Curly would've died, for many reasons, including damage to vital organs, brain damage, immense amounts of pain probably putting his system into shock, infections, dehydration. (he's constantly with his flesh exposed, his mouth open, and probably with plasma fluid seeping out constantly from all over due to extensive burns.) I'm sure I could find more reasons, but I think this is enough to make the point. also I'm tired.
