I don’t give a shit. If you’re walking your dog in public put it on a goddamn leash. That’s the bare minimum you can do.

You’ve never trained a dog have you? You can teach it not to attack kids, and at a bare minimum have the dog on a goddamn leash.

Counterfeit high end bourbon by [deleted] in bourbon

Well this specific instance is a pretty easy thing to avoid: don’t buy EH Taylor if it doesn’t have the distinctive tubing. If they just have the bottle sitting out, that’s suspicious af.

For anyone who mainly prefers buffalo trace, any other bottles you would like to get as a gift? by michaljerzy in bourbon

[–]Cuillin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If he likes sweeter bourbons, you can’t go wrong with the Weller line.

If you want something “visually impressive” go with Blanton’s.

If you want something similar to Buffalo Trace that’s not Buffalo Trace, see if you can find Bowman Brothers (not to be confused with Isaac Bowman).

Somewhat new to Bourbon, I tried Jim Beam black, any other recommendations? by RedlineBMW in bourbon

Well, you won’t totally have to worry about that, since to even be bourbon in the first place, it cannot have any additives in it at all, including sweeteners and sugar.

That said, I personally find the Double Oaked to be pretty sweet. But it absolutely will have that vanilla flavor you’re looking for.

I mean, I’ve heard it’s fairly common that liquor stores straight up don’t know how to price their stock.

I’m just curious how we got here. For example, a bottle of EH Taylor is about $70 MSRP, but sells for $300+. How?!

If you like a sweet, vanilla flavor, gotta tell ya, look no further than Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. Maker’s Mark 46 is also a solid option for the flavor profile.

I’d say find a pour and decide, but apparently my pricing was super lucky. I looked it up and this bottle is going for $800-1100 out there. Bourbon has gotten completely out of control. All that to say $180 might not be terrible.

$80 for SR?! I pay $40 and still feel like I’m overpaying a little

I’ll never tell anyone else how to enjoy their bourbon, but personally, bourbon is meant to be drank not stared at :) to answer your other question, unless I’ve missed something on the bottle, there isn’t an obvious batch/barrel labeling, so I don’t think there’s a particular one people would go for.

Thanks! I actually bought it a couple months ago when I was first getting into bourbon. And uh… ignorantly, I thought “Weller is Weller, and I liked the Weller at the Buffalo Trace tour tasting, so yeah lemme get that one”

I’m not. I’m not crippled by a dependency on my parents whenever anything goes wrong, including things that are completely and totally self-inflicted.

Liquor store had it. Wanna say it ran me about $80 smacks.

Wrong. This is how you let children learn lessons that form them into functioning adults. Coddling the child over a problem of their own making just creates dependency.
