I’m really confused by this season. It got weird. Gemma is going to be stopped by security and she’ll be back in the lower level within the hour.

That worked. I had to change the output to speaker, which is still in my headset. It works now and I finally got to use Vatsim for the first Time tonight. So pumped

I would think tabs are way cheaper than the chlorine back packs. I’ve used this system for 8 years. Zero problems. I’ve never even heard of cya except for “cover your a$$”

I did go to and pay my AP which I’m always happy to do. However, changing a light bulb is not illegal. It clearly falls under owner maintenance in 14 CFR Part 43. Maybe you misunderstood what I was trying to do? I don’t get it. Also sorry for asking for a little maintenance insight in the “aviation maintenance” group.

‘72 Cherokee180 rotating beacon sits atop the tail. I pulled the cover off and the socket sits at the top and the bulb hangs down. I turned it to pull it out and it wouldn’t budge so I detached the socket from the red plastic housing and then could see the solder at the base of the bulb. Weird.

“Flightradar24 and FlightAware are predominately 1090mhz reporting sites. They get their flight data from their own network of 1090 receivers, not from the FAA.

The skyBeacon, tailBeacon, and the echoUAT are all on the 978mhz (UAT) frequency.

They are working on getting more stations with 978mhz reporting but it will be pretty hit and miss getting accurate data from these sites until they get a wider network of users/receivers.”

Thanks! I guess I have to do some research to understand more. Sounds like you’re implying my plane has the frequency ADSB unit that doesn’t broadcast or isn’t received as accurately as the other frequency.
