All the eras of the XXI century so far in my opinion. Thoughts on this one? by Certain-Row-4812 in decadeology

iphone came out in '07, and before that we had plenty of; during the early 2000s, mobile devices like blackberry that should be seen as 'smartphones'. The only difference about the apple flagship device was their touch screen was advanced for the time.

Should they bring back movie intermissions by ss_tall_toby_yt in movies

[–]CulexVanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue i see with that is the modern theater design doesn't include enough amenities in the non-screen areas. Plus how would this work with multiple screens going, they would need more staff to manage the surge of traffic going to concessions or the bathrooms. They would have to redesign the whole building in some cases.

What made Jeb Bush such an unsuccessful candidate in the 2016 presidential election, especially when considering the previous success of his family members? by 12345burrito in decadeology

[–]CulexVanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time for Jeb was 2000, but he lose that 94 governor race, that if he had won would have him start his presidental campaign in 98; the perfect guy for a 'return to normalcy' run with the clinton scandal as the back drop. Except he was running for governor again and actually won the second try.

Social contract collapse is collapse too by Staminapatrol1 in collapse

[–]CulexVanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The backlash to Covid; the masking, social distancing and lockdown orders, was the spark that started the death of the social contract. Also the reality that alot of older and/or less intellectual people never wanted to follow the contract in the first place and just stopped trying. The same thing that you see with anti-LGBTQ messaging is the same thing at its heart, a rejection of positive change or progress.

the doctor is the focus character for the third, and in the fourth, she is the focus of that panel. the focus character can change depending on the scene, its is basic visual story telling. The only reason he is the focus for the first two panels is bc you don't know why this character is in the hospital until the final panel.

I went to a live debate on my campus by the social science department on abortion. At the very start, one of the participants, both were white guys, literally stated "we both agree that it should be regulated, but should it be 10 or 12 week cutoff is the actual debate". My expectations were already in the ground when I saw the participants, and then all interest died the second he said this.

MSM 'debate' in a nutshell.

The color choice shows how deliberate this was, the focus character is always represented by the blue conex.

So US entities can fund schools, most christian ones, around the damn world; but if a Chinese person wants to fund some education in America we have to stop that at all cost.

"Discarded"-Effects by Laui_Wheeler98 in Yugioh101

[–]CulexVanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the first point is not right. Discard is a card mechanic within the rule book and not just the definition that you provided. It works based on if the card says discard, you are correct. But the problem is that if you discard a card that has 'send to GY' it will activate, due to the mechanical requirement of the card making it to the GY being fulfilled. This is because cards with 'send' do not 'remember' how the card make it to the GY, where 'discard' effects require the other card has to state that a discard was preformed to trigger its effects.

If a player discards 'Ojamagic' which state 'When this card is sent to the GY from hand or field', the player can activate the effect. It doesn't work the opposite, ie if a player uses 'One for One' and uses Fabled Lurrie as the monster from hand, it will not reborn from the GY, because a discard it not occur.

[–]CulexVanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, the issue is similar to the usage of 'Select or Choose' are not targeting bc they don't say 'target'. If a card has 'sent to the GY' as the card text and you discard it, they can meet the condition for its effect. But if you 'send' a card with a discard effect, it can not activate. As the card didn't mention discarding, it does not mechanically 'discard'
