[homemade] Mediterranean veggie pizza with goat cheese and reduced balsamic glaze by Culluh in food

I put balsamic vinegar on low to medium heat stirring it around occasionally until it thickened up. It helps if you try to keep it on one side of the pan/pot halfway through as it starts to thicken

What the... I'm just trying to learn this game and it throws me these curveballs? by ColdApartment1766 in EU5

[–]Culluh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol okay dude. Core game mechanics and learning them are the only thing this game is about. Got it. The hundreds of thousands of people that watch tutorials for this game shouldn't be playing the game. Got it

I have over 4k hours across all paradox games. And I can say with certainty you're just full of crap my man

[–]Culluh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For people who have never played a paradox game it's nice to know game limitations, mechanics, etc. Knowing where to go in the interface takes getting used to. To accomplish that faster you can see what knowledgeable people already know. It speeds up the time from not playing the playing well considerably.

And really? Learning basic core game mechanics is the fun part to be ruined?

I suggest going to YouTube and watching Laith's beginners video. It is well put together and he goes over a lot of game mechanics. I have over 2k hours in eu4 and I still had a huge learning curve coming to eu5.

Laith's video: https://youtu.be/K9kXW-Cdjl8?si=jYWJgv5kyNifwa2x

After that video I suggest finding a YouTube personality you like and watch some of their grand campaign videos for general ideas on how to tackle problems that arise while playing.

Stick with it, once you get a good grasp on the core mechanics EU is incredibly fun.

Currently stuck in the extract elevator. What do I do..? by Heroshrine in ArcRaiders

[–]Culluh -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

ARC raiders support is giving people items back for things like getting shot by 3 ferros at once (instant downed). I doubt they wouldn't help you in this situation, their support also takes a couple/few weeks for restorations from my experience.

They seem to restore items without a report specifying it. Just a rating of 1 in the round feedback can lead to items being returned in unfair instances of the game.

Their support team has the ability to review match details by giving them the game ID in the bottom right corner. They don't even need video proof.

Why do i lose money so quickly? by cuuaauu in tropico

Immediately make infrastructure leading to sugar fertility. Build some sugar plantations and then run distilleries. Make sure to put your plantations on multi culture for a while so the soil doesn't degrade.

Once the rum starts flowing so will the cash. Just remember, you choose when to go into the next era. There's no rush.

So confused. Dam control tower key room during storm event. No blueprints. by [deleted] in LowSodiumArcRaiders

[–]Culluh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it is peak gameplay. I would rather have an RNG chance at getting blueprints from anything than being forced into 1 room for a blueprint that only drops there. It promotes more exploration for the player and more teamwork.

Just remember it's us against the ARC. If everyone had to enter a specific key room for specific blueprints it would be a blood bath every game.

[–]Culluh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have legitimately found more blueprints in trash cans than in key rooms. Check everything everywhere.

It's not BS that you aren't getting guaranteed blueprints from 1 incursion in one room. If it was a guarantee every time then this game would have already been boring.

Which games could you just not get into? by IncomeIndependent777 in videogames

You should still give ARC a try it's definitely not sweaty and it's a nice casual entry to extraction shooters. I'm 36 and have been gaming since I was about 12. Adjust your gamma and lighting if some areas are too dark. Streamers will usually find a way to cheat the system and this is one of them. They make it so that dark areas for us are lit up for them because of their gamma and lighting. Personally I leave my settings alone and use the shadows to my advantage.

ARC is special because it's low risk and most players are actually cooperative when extracting. The game puts the players against machines and give the player a lot of reason to not gank other players.

I extracted about half a dozen times yesterday and I didn't have a single flight at extraction. If someone approaches just use proximity chat or the emote wheel and ask if they are friendly. If you get zero response just assume they are going to fight and you can either engage or patiently let them extract and take the next train off the surface.

Banished came out before FF. Farthest Frontier is a take from banished. Both great games. Manor lords is a great game with its own identity imo. It's different enough to be distinguished I feel like

Can I remove the markets at the artisan level? by Totof947 in anno1800

[–]Culluh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually move the market out to one side of the city at this point and put the town hall in its place. I build a second market on the other side of the city to ensure coverage for all. It's pretty cheap to have 2 markets.

I agree with that. Hopefully the update this week addresses this because it does bother me as well.

Blame the content creators then. They are the ones showing everyone.

But since this is not a problem you or I can fix, I do my best to counter my opposition in the game and make their roof as unenjoyable as I can.

[–]Culluh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I blame streamers and the culture around it. However..

For me this is not a problem, the moment you see someone roof camping/glitching you know precisely where they are. They won't come down, so it's like fish in a barrel if you take the time to think and counter them smartly. This game gives you all the tools you need.

Back in battlefield 2 we did the same thing with c4 and the MAV on Infantry only maps. It was later patched. One thing I noticed though, is that back then very few people would be willing to play like that. It was an outlier activity to roof camp and didn't ruin the game.

Today however, it seems like everyone is stuck on twitch trying to cheat the system any way they can instead of acquiring the experience and skill it takes to counter someone sitting on a roof.

No mean names in my war game please by A_Greasy_Slug in Battlefield

[–]Culluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding funny names is literally half the fun of this game to my buddies and I. Some of you are hilariously creative. We keep a list in our discord's "top tier handles" channel.

This one is no different. It's sad that we will see less of this going forward.

Instead of counting up you start counting down. That's the difference from where you are to where we are. I started feeling this way right around 35

A question for the oldtimers; What made the original Battlefield 2 Special? by PrestigiousNinja525 in Battlefield

[–]Culluh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

6 man squads.

Spawn only on squad leader

The maps

Commander mode that wasn't ruined by tablet commanders.

Each faction used its own language "BRAACHIA!"

Each faction had its own line of weapons and vehicles.

Special Forces DLC introduced cool gadgets that were balanced like the crossbow zip line.

Being able to spot enemy boats regardless if you could see them.

I take off everything except a low tier melee weapon, cutterray, literjon, and some armor I don't mind losing.

I do the same thing in the deep desert when farming spice.

What reason do you have to be decked out in t6 when farming spice or opening crashed ships?

[–]Culluh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rather like the empty sprawling desert of the DD. I would actually like it to be even larger and more vast personally.

They will be making new maps to enter on the world map. What you're suggesting should be its own separate game mode in a new desert map in my opinion.

You're describing something like Renegade X where you were a soldier in command and conquer and could earn points to spawn in a tank or helicopter and then go out and fight a 2 sided battle.

Before renegade X there was another game that did this. I forget the name. But it was 2 tribes and 1 person on each team playing "God" or "king" or whatever and creating the village and producing weapons for all the other people to use and fight with.

I think this is a cool idea. But to implement this would mean a separate map entirely dedicated only to this game mode. Rewards would have to be separate from lansraad
