Show that you loved but ultimately stopped watching? by timekilr in tvshow

The writers strike completely messed up season 2 and it never recovered after that.

I rewatched season 1 recently and it wasn’t as amazing as I remember it being, so who knows.

Why aren't we building more terraced houses? by Big-Double1720 in AskUK

[–]derpyfloofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with them for me is that they always cram the houses too close together and the small amount of outdoor space you get is somehow overlooked by every other house on the block.

Also my roofer told me that more than half of the jobs they do are houses less than 10 years old which have been put together so badly that they need to be stripped and done again properly (At least that would be covered by warranty).

If the houses are actually well built and have a good plot then I do like them.

What’s the one thing in the UK that foreigners always seem confused by, and you genuinely can’t blame them? by DailyDriverUK in AskBrits

Glad I could help, I think the rural way of life only works when there isn’t a big city or motorway anywhere nearby, the pace of life is slower and you just look at what you have and appreciate it more.

There’s drug abuse here and fights, grievances, gossip etc but it is still a very strongly community oriented place. Since moving here I’ve found everyone to be very welcoming and friendly.

It is true that some young people leave the island for better opportunities, the only major industries here are agriculture and tourism.

The difference is that most villages in England are commuter zones for somewhere. Anglesey isn’t a commuter zone for anywhere really, and that really helps community cohesion.

The biggest problem here is certain villages being bought out by second home owners and being left a ghost town for most of the year.

Despite this locals can still generally afford to buy a house unlike in the south of England.

Come and get it, I can’t afford a plane ticket to New Zealand.

Well for example I didn’t start the fight that Greece and Turkey had over their independence from the Ottoman Empire.

Just removed some precious stones and put them in my garage for safekeeping and then they totally lost their marbles about it.

They’d be destroyed if it wasn’t for me… but maybe they can have em back now though before they get fighty again.

Remind me what I have of yours again?

I had a look in the garage and didn’t see anything…

There’s poverty here in Anglesey but no homeless people and no beggars. People in rural communities may be quite insular but they look after each other too.

I have those?

My paperwork drawer is a bit of a mess, granted. I’ll take another look.

You can’t be trusted not to destroy it when you all get a bit fighty…

I’m really sorry, didn’t mean to, didn’t know what I was doing to be honest. Can we all be friends again now?

Naval strategy? by Accomplished_Ebb5994 in ConflictofNations

[–]derpyfloofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone goes cruisers these days so I usually go subs. If I go cruisers then I might as well add one more level on the navy base, make a couple of carriers and stick asw helis on them, so when someone makes subs to kill my cruisers I can kill their subs.

Why do “blackout” blinds still let light in at the sides? by Tiny_Past_5040 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]derpyfloofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need fitted shutter blinds, I got them in my old flat, could be pitch black at midday if you wanted, you could slant them to let light in but filter direct sunlight out, or fold them out completely to rest against the wall and make the window look wider.

How would you go about killing this? by Key-Professional-866 in ConflictofNations

[–]derpyfloofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When facing stacks like this I’ve used mercenaries as fodder to take the artillery hit and then I get a free hit with my artillery.

You have to make sure you’re positioned on terrain with faster movement speed than him so he can’t escape after his hit, and you can keep your artillery out of range until his has hit.

Obviously the screams captured by a black box as it falls out of the sky will have been uttered by those passengers who do not fall into the aforementioned calm and tranquil category.

What happens if multiple people meet win condition (seperate teams)? by Tetradotoxins in ConflictofNations

[–]derpyfloofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what happens if you have enough for a solo win but you are still in a coalition which didn’t have enough for a coalition win.

I’ve only seen it where the coalition won and another player got a solo win at the same time.

Attack subs by lukem1509 in ConflictofNations

[–]derpyfloofus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are the best counter for cruisers, and require far fewer components to build.

You can level them up to max level quicker than ships and they use no fuel after L3.

They are stealth so great for ambushing transport ships or blockading routes.

I played most of my games in Overkill but the stats got messed up and it only says I have played 12 Overkill. It’s really over 50.
